what important things in the world? to have hope that humankind could be better. We would understand from one viewpoint or another, that we are all the same. I am a conscious beeing, you are to. we are the same.

when we eventually meet our galactic neighbours, we would like to se them as a conscious beeing. that is mabye the only thing we have incommon. so we have to work that out in ourselves. to love the diffrences in eachother.

love and forgive. that is a great thing to do in a time when babylon falls.

There was an interesting anecdote I read recently via a late night Stumbleupon binge, called The Egg, that really puts forth an interesting viewpoint on the world and the life we live.

If you don't feel like reading it, the point it makes is that you are every person that ever existed in the world. Everyone you were mean to, everyone you were nice to. You were Hitler, you were the Jews he killed. You are Abraham Lincoln, you are John Wilkes Booth. So every time you were being mean to someone, you were being mean to yourself. Every time you were nice, you were nice to yourself.

It is an interesting concept that enforces the common theme of don't be a butt to anyone you meet because they are just like you. It's similar to what you said Jan Bjerknes. We all are the same, just in different circumstances.



Although, Fruit Loops are pretty high on the list too.

otherwise nothing is really important, its your perspective that counts

like sure the universe is a big HUGE unknow amazing thing

Is/Ought problem. There is no inherently objective "whats most important" to be found in the universe. The universe isn't about perscriptive claims, it is simply what is.

So no OP, you are wrong. The stupid minutiae that occupies my everyday life IS the most important thing in the universe as far as I'm concerned. What do I care about things happening to people I don't know hundreds of miles away? what do I care will happen to my distant descendents somewhere far down the misty annals of time? I care about what's infront of me, right here right now, and I think everyone would be a little better off if they followed suite.
