What are the worst misconceptions you know of?

Bringing harm to another human being on purpose is something I've never done, nor is it something I have interest in. Avoiding conflict is my first choice; resolving it, if need be, is something I desire to do with words, tolerance, and understanding. Don't get me wrong I'm not a peace loving tree-hugger, I've put in my hour-days playing CoD and practicing the art of provocation and trash talk, but the biggest misconception to me which literally makes me want to staple someone's lips shut is:
"Being Deaf is a handicap, and that deaf people cannot function in mainstream society in which they are inherently dumb/inferior. Deafness is something abnormal and needs to be cured."

You can be antitheistic without it being because of emotional or psychological abuse. If you firmly believe that religion, on the whole, is a force for suffering and social destruction, then you are (or at least probably are) an antitheist. A lot of misconception has already been posted here I think, another one that just popped into my mind is the following:
