Gonna be playing FPS games that used the Doom 3 engine.

Doom 3 itself, then Quake 4, then Prey 2006.

The 2009 Wolfenstein also uses idTech 4, tho getting a copy of that might be tricky if you don't already have one, since it's been delisted.

Also, if you want to sneak in something different:

I've definitely hung around the camp a bit at times just to watch and listen to the other people there, not to mention the campfire at night and listen to people chat. It's a wonderful sense of downtime and feels very homey. Kind of like the Normandy from ME2/3 but where he characters actually feel dynamic in their routines and not just standing in the same room all the time. I've even put a lot of money into improving the camp, considering you don't really need much for actual gameplay(Food is cheap, if not free, and you don't need to eat every often) and the only thing that really costs money is weapons and bounties, maybe some outfits which seem to be mostly cosmetic.

I do find it interesting that Arthur is putting the most into the camp, according to the ledger. Oh, there are small contributions here and there but they don't even add up to restock money, meanwhile "Arthur $150, Arthur $10, etc". And you know whose name isn't in that ledger at all? Dutch "We need more money, AR-THUR!" Van Der Linde. What happened to the camps share again? The half of the take that gets automatically given to the camp? Apparently Dutch is saving it for....something..... in a "safe place".

I've read the white quests can appear and disappear depending on time of day, though this is the first I'm hearing they might disappear based on chapter as well. One of the few things I'd heard of being permanently missable is if you did the gunslinger quest but didn't grab their unique guns when you had the chance. Not that it's a huge deal but those guns are rather nice.

For the record, (and that list is exhaustive; I wouldn’t even click the other tabs past Missions until after completing a playthrough to preserve sanity lol. A more immediate example would be just relevant to trophies) it’s one big thing that would’ve been nice if Rockstar was more clear on - at least for their 100% completion parameters which thankfully are still nowhere near “100%” - without resorting to a guide (kinda like another developer and series *cough FROM cough SoulsBorne*). This is one of the few open world games I feel has enough unique content worth bothering to go for that sort of thing.

And yeah, regarding donations it really says a lot about Dutch especially. He’d probably make a great politician in another life.

Yeah I have the Dark Mod installed. I just have decide which fan made mission packs do I start with first.

Also I got Prey 2006 on Steam just recently because someone I know had a Extra CD Key from a physical copy and he generously gave it to me for free.

So I now have a Steam game that has since been delisted.

I have been struggling to find the enthusiasm to play anything to be fair and if I'm being honest, I've been struggling since I beat Persona 5 Royal back in June. There are a ton of games that I've started and not finished, I want to give Ghost of The Sushi another chance but every time I think that I mentally cringe at how boring I found it after about a week. Maybe its the heat making me not want to do anything.

Anyway, I started playing Tropico 5 in the hope that something to different to what I usually play will jolt me out of this funk. So far I'm enjoying it.

I do admit that the game can be slow to start, and the fact that you have to grind by killing generals to unlock stances is a stupid gameplay mechanic. For me at least, it took about two or three hours for the game to pick up for me, personally. Just try and stick with it if you can. if not, oh well. I thought I would like Doom eternal but I ended up just liking it. I got bored halfway through the game. If you want, I can recommend you some shorter games just you can have refund sessions. Plus, the games have plenty of replay. I recommend you play either the takeover, Streets of Rage 4, or ninja savior's return of the Warriors.

I'm playing through the Uncharted games again.

I already sorta replayed them just recently in anticipation of The Last of Us 2, but then that turned out to be kinda shit, which made that anticipation marathon feel pointless, so now I'm playing them again properly and to find comfort in Naughty Dog's more charming games. *sigh* Christ, TLoU2 did a number on me.

In one of the chapter 2 missions(I believe it's the sheep rustling mission), Arthur tells John that Dutch's gift is being able to make grand speeches and then starts to go further before breaking off, but it sounds like he was about to say something along the lines that Dutch is kind of full of shit at times. So Arthur seems to be aware of Dutch's inherent hypocrisy to an extent, or at least that was my take on it.

I noticed after replaying the beginning on PC, there is a lot of nuance to the character performances that goes a long way to selling these personalities and what they carry. Like when Dutch gives his first speech in the storm about being in a tough spot or whatever, I originally noticed his delivery seemed hesitant, like he was unsure of what to say or even himself in a way.

But what I didn’t pick up on at first was how Arthur giving slight nods after every big point he makes, like he believes in him and proudly stands with him even in trying times. But that of course gets worn away as Dutch becomes increasingly shady and reckless. There’s one mission that goes sideways in particular where it seems to trigger a light inside Arthur’s head that says hey, maybe this guy isn’t quite the savior I thought. I think it’s in Chapter 3 so you’ll probably run into it soon.

Trooooooooopico. I really like tropico, but I wish they changed more stuff with every iteration, Tropico 5-6 feel like expansion to tropico 4 more than complete change which is a bit disappointing.

After some time, I came back to Sekiro and finally managed to defeat the last boss. It wasn't particularly exciting, since I pretty much had to run circles around the last two phases for about 20 minutes, but I'm happy that I can uninstall the game for good.

Otherwise, I've been playing Death Stranding on and off; it's a great deal of fun, and it's nice to see a game experiment and give complexity to something as often streamlined as movement, especially since most other titles of the such that come to mind are memes like QWOP. I'm still not very far along, but that's because I've taken the time to go back and forth between stations to deliver lost cargo.

Star Fox for the SNES.

The game's...okay. Really, there's no comparison, Star Fox 64 is better in every way. It's better than Command, but being kicked in the balls is better than Command. Game's pretty tough though. Beat Route 2 last night. Route 3...ulp.

You're a better man then me. I got to phase 3?(the one where he pulls out a spear and a gun) many, many, many times and could not deal with his speed and huge attack variety. I eventually used a mod, which allowed me to spam the shuriken by removing the cap on SE use between idols, and it allowed me to chip him to death, because he'll block every single shuriken and take chip damage.....but when he can't go on the offensive, eventually you can one shot his ass.

I would feel bad, but I'd long since gone past the point I could feel anything but relief at being fucking done with it. Besides, asshole pulled a semi-auto handgun from nowhere and can spam that, so if he gets to cheat, so should I. Hell, the game itself seems to reinforce the idea that winning is more important then honor. It's basically the Ashina code and Genoshiro will flat out say as much if you beat him in that first battle.

I've been picking up on hints here and there that Dutch has a screw loose somewhere inside, but it only seems to show when things are going bad and he starts to flail. When things are calm and going good, he's confident and in control but when stressed he starts to buckle a bit. For example, when Micah apparently talked him into camping at Dewberry Creek and luckily Arthur and Charles(?) realized what a terrible spot it would be for a camp and diverted them to the lake instead.

Listening to the gang talk gives me the impression the gang generally holds together because most don't feel like they have anywhere else to go. To Arthur and John he's the closest thing to a father they ever had, Charles (and possibly Lenny) appreciate the fact they're treated equally(or as equal as can be expected for the time period) with the rest of the gang, Bill and Uncle(maybe Pearson) apparently it seems the gang is the closest thing to friends and family they have.....The fact Dutch is Charismatic and sounds like he's smart but also caring helps.

Even with some noted mixed feelings about what happened in Blackwater(everyone seems to change the subject REAL QUICK as soon as it or Heidi McCourt's Death gets brought up), there's no one else either willing, able or with enough clout to take over regardless, since Hosea and Arthur would be the next most likely to succeed him and neither seem particularly interested in that role nor wants to start a power struggle while they're being hunted by the Government and the Pinkertons.

Avengers the game the beta
That's enough, think am done now. The repetition has made itself clear. Fun for the short while before then. But no more. No sale. That was enough. All cards are on the table. Pity it couldn't have committed anything to a solid single-player experience, perhaps a story would help encourage instead of this overbearing obsession with numbers feeding the glorious 'power level' master number. None of the loot you pick up changes how you look, it's literally just a number with maybe a different colour and a shitty jpeg to fool you into thinking you got something cool looking.
All the characters are witless voids apart from stretchy girl, who was alright at first until the novelty of 'gushing fan girl' wore off the second I couldn't stop seeing her as an exec's top idea of their impression of a perfect player-insert character for the precise customer base they are hoping to reel in.

Tried online once...by mistake, couldn't figure out how to back out, so it lumbered me with one other player a few levels higher due to me wanting to level up an unused character. Went well for a bit, till I got pounced as they abandoned me like everyone always does in these things. Died, tried to get back to menu...nuh uh, not for fragile low-level muggins here, that requires a democratic vote! and I was outnumbered by the same number of person's as me, just like real democracy! Stuck in spectator mode staring at a stranger's overly perfected butt-cheeks wander aimlessly without any sense of haste, I considered closing the game to brute force an exit, but thought now wasn't the time to indulge in kunt-to-kunt pettiness, even if precious life minutes were draining away. So went to the fridge to eat more homemade hummus like the fat lazy bastard I should be. Never again will the online mode be entertained.

Also, despite the devs claiming they were doing their own thing away from the MCU (As if squeenix would allow that, with all those juicy cross-promotions they negotiated), then why the hell are nearly all the fighting animations ripped wholesale from these movies??

If a positive must be extracted from this cynically produced corporate orgy, it's that the set-up appears to be very ready for a proper X-Men crossover, and the second-to-second gameplay is ok until you're in the 20th identical science bunker wondering if you've accidentally picked an already completed level. But it will be monetised out of every orifice, because this is the investors latest 10-year gravy train! All aboard, brands and consumers!

(oh and something is really wrong with Thor's voice acting. It's hilariously bad, like a silly kids' cartoon villain trying to sound far more manly than they realistically could)

Wait, you can't leave an online game unless the rest of the team lets you? Seriously?

I don't play MP very much(well, at all, really) but that seems messed up somehow.I get voting to kick someone or allow someone to join a game in progress but "Hey guys, Dinner's ready, I have to go" requires everyone else to buy off on it?

And the Panzer Dragoon series is better than all of the Star Fox games. The Sin & Punishment games are better than the Star Fox games. The only Star Fox I ever liked was SF64.

It appears so, the only option after death I could see was to quit match, which maybe means quit for everybody. Was hoping to slink off quietly in shame, but the game brought up a vote clearly pointing towards me as the "Mr no fun allowed even after death" asshole. Am a bit afraid to try again in case the same happens.

Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door.

I'm seriously wavering on my low level challenge here. They've made it a lot more tedious in many ways:
  • Enemies are more difficult to avoid because you can't spin dash any more. This means I'm losing more coins from running away.
  • There are no party moves that scare away enemies without giving XP like in the first game. I thought Flurrie's Gale Force move would do it, but it actually gives XP, so it's useless.
  • The only way to handle essential fights against mooks is to use Fright Masks, which cost coins, which are difficult to come by without combat, for the entire game. They don't seem to be as effective as Bow's Spook ability was either so I'm using a couple on each fight.
  • There's an NPC blocking a portion of the town who I could easily defeat, but I need to pay 10 coins to every time I want to access that portion of the town.
  • Glitz Pit is going to be a nightmare.
All in all, I don't think it's quite as tedious as the constant restarts that would be required from Mario RPG, but it's far more annoying than Paper Mario.

Just received Ghost of Tsushima, so I've been playing that for a little while. Emboldened by my successes with From Software's games and the progress that I made a while back in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, I decided to play on Hard mode (Lethal mode, with one-hit kills from everything, seems excessive). So far, I've cleared a few of the early missions and died a lot more than I expected; clearly I badly underestimated how much I'd have to learn about GoT itself. Still, I'm enjoying the combat and the story, and the island looks amazing; I almost never take screenshots of games, but I've already snapped a couple of pics in the game's photo mode. Looking forward to seeing where it goes next.

And, yeah, I've read the main thread(s) and seen a few takes in this thread, but I don't need any assurances that it gets better/worse; I'd like to form my own take on it.
