Finished up Spider-Man 2 over the weekend.

All in all a pretty entertaining game, fun characters and an interesting story ( except for Miles' place in it, he was there and helped out equally, but for the life of me I can't remember what his journey was, the major story beats were all Peter ). I enjoyed playing as both, having either of them jumping in when you're fighting random crime was pretty neat. Traversal through swinging or gliding was nice, the fast travel is just bonkers.
Miles' journey was basically learning how to not exactly forgive Martin Li for killing his father, but deal with his anger in a more constructive way than vengeance.

Now that you mention it ... Damn, that totally slipped my mind when I was writing my post earlier.

I may just quit Never Grave. The game feels more chore than anything. Going through the same proc gen dungeon over and over is tedious and doesn't offer enough variation; it takes forever to try your luck at actual progress. And when you do die and get sent back to the hub, you spend too much time harvesting the plants and the produce, replanting and watering crops, cashing in trinkets, setting up the production line at the alchemy center, cooking up meals, exchanging gifts with one NPC for blueprints with another NPC in order to build the thing to craft the other thing... and so on. It's all designed to waste my time. You're about to go take another stab at the dungeon and five different things pop up on the message board, telling you to do this, do that. Meh.

The Witcher 3, tracking down the Sunstone.

I hadn’t looked at my crafting tab since Act 2 and noticed a few good things, including a new silver sword called the Weeper. It was a considerable upgrade from my current. Also got a magic and master Sword of the Flaming Rose from a bandit camp at Skellige, but am a level shy. Now doing some quest cleanup for the dlc and whatever else looks interesting for the time being before jumping back into the main stuff.

> I don't have to kill area bosses on every run [in Returnal]. I mean I enjoyed Hades, but fighting the area bosses have been a terrible experience. In Returnal, all you have to do is kill the boss once, get their keys, and simply go to the next area

Wait.... really?! I completely dismissed this game because I just assumed the opposite.

You can refight area bosses if you want to get access to the loot and shops behind them, but as long as you've beaten the boss once you'll be able to go through the portal to the next area on subsequent runs as soon as you find it.

[Unrelated, as an addendum to my previous post, the friend who bought me Dino Crisis on Steam reminded me that I haven't finished it, so I'll probably do that first and then go for a replay of RE4.]

I just finished my NG+ run on modern difficulty and it went by much faster this time. Helps I remembered where nearly everything is. Just like in a proper RE game. This game is even more fun on NG+ run. I think Requiem is going to be place somewhere in my top 10 now. It's really high up there.

Been playing Persona 4 Golden on the VITA off and on for years. I keep hearing it is fantastic, trying it and nothing happens. Finally, something was happening!!! My team got sucked into a TV set and found themselves in another reality with an odd talking "bear". I thought it saved when I tried to get rest in my room but that didn't work. All the way back to some kid crashing on his bike. Hope the game file isn't corrupted. I do like that so far, it is simple enough for even an old guy like me to play.

I can't say for certain on the VITA version, but there probably aren't any autosaves. You'll know when your game is saved because you will go to the save menu and manually overwrite a save slot.

I read on line that there are a few places where you go to do this, including your character's bedroom. I did click that I wanted to rest, but didn't actually end up in the bedroom. If/when I can do that, I think it will allow me to save a file as you describe. So, all the time wasting inconvenience of auto saves only when they allow, plus the need to ensure you actually save a file. We'll see. Wish it were more like Uncharted, that both auto saves AND allows you to save a file at any time.

Was making another run through BG3, but got kind of burned out and decided to derail to my backlog of games picked up for free on EGS. So I decided on Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. So far, enjoying it. Been a long time since I ran through a Castlevania, and this spiritual successor is proving worthy... so far.

I started with Man Eater, and really only gave it about 20 minutes. The tutorializing led me straight to a fight against an alligator I was in no way high enough level to take on. I considered Breathedge too, but went with Bloodstained.

The major save points I can think of are in the school classroom, the wall calendar in your house's living room, and the entrance to the TV world. Other than that I think the game makes a quick save at the start of dungeon floors so you can reload from that floor if you die, but it's been a while since I last played it so I could be wrong.

I just finished Sunset Riders (arcade two player rom) and Wild Guns (SNES). Still some of the best wild west video games ever made. These two, Call of Juarez: Gunslinger, and Evil West are all better than Red Dead Redemption franchise.

@Worgen, I've been experimenting more with The TakeOver 2 demo, and just realized it's using the same ranking and combo system as Streets of Rage 4. You know how SOR4 does the more hits/harder the hit is, the more is added to the combo counter? Yes, that even includes losing your combo or breaking, if you get hit. So sometimes it's best to get to an 100+ combo and let it clear so you can get the score button. I began getting A-Ranks and S-Ranks consistently once I realized this.

I was actually able to get the end demo boss caught in an infinite air juggle for the entire fight. It did require me spamming the neutral special button whenever a new minion would show up, but it was worth it. Me doing that, and not taking any hits while performing said infinite, granted me an S-Rank

Whatever, just wash your hands.
Beat Transformers Battleground. It was a cool little xcom lite game. The overall story was pretty much what you would expect from any transformers game, but the characters are fun even though I am unfamiliar with the specific transformers series they are from. Gameplay is xcom type turn based strategy, no % to hit, you can either shoot someone or you can't. Each character has its on specials and attacks it can do. Seems like Grimlock is the most powerful, especially once you get this rocket attack you can do with him, which has a big aoe and knocks enemies around. I would recommend it for a shorter simpler xcom style game, except it was removed from storefronts last December.

Ugh, should have waited to start RE:2make.
Couldn't play for a few days after starting it, so when I booted it up last night, I forgot everything- what I was supposed to do, where I was supposed to go, what all the crap in my inventory was for, which locks or items I already tried to get and which I couldn't, and where anything is. I tried to look it up but since the point of this game is to explore and it's not really linear, it was just wading through annoying walkthroughs. I got as far as learning I had to craft a detonator out of two items I already had but was annoyed that I didn't figure out that out, not knowing if it was because I'm daft or just forgot something from my time way. I vaguely remember what that detonator was for, but how the hell was I supposed to remember which room that was in or how to get there, and the thought of wandering around in circles avoiding zombies for hours turned me off, and I turned the game off.

I would need to return to it when I have patience and time, but by then I'll probably forget even more. *shrugs* I dunno, maybe I'll continue, maybe I won't.

Believe it or not, RE2 and RE2R are the most linear of the REs, not counting anything RE4 and up. It's still the most linear of the old school RE games, but you have options, you can tackle in almost any order. And you're always going to the next objective immediately. A majority of people don't notice on their first play through, but after the third or concurrent play through, they start to realize this.

Did you grab the battery yet? The detonator is for that third puzzle statue to on the second floor of tge library. The one behind the cage.

Take your time, but I suggest you try again sooner than later. At least that way, you don't fall further behind and forget even more. I tried my best to give you some extra help without spoiling too much.
