The most telling comment I heard someone call it was a nice palette cleanser after Mina the Hollower. Well, that game seems way too hard for me, while Elliott is too easy. *shrugs
Would you like some Ninja Gaiden Ragebound? There is an assist option if you don't want to do the default difficulty. I'm playing on normal mode though.

If that's the 2D one from last year, I played the demo and found the platform + combat to be a bit much.
That's ok, I've never gelled with any NG game.

Thank y'all for the recommendations!
Hmm, then I'll just throw out a few recommendations and see if any tickle you.

System Shock Remake - immersive sim survival horror

Return of the Obra Dinn - time puzzles horror

Mohrta - fps adventure dark

Mo Astray - Metroidvania

Void War - FTL Faster then Light, but 40k
I've played System Shock (2) and Obra Dinn, love both. Not really familiar with the others, will look into them.

Of these I've only played Chants of Sennaar and liked it a lot. Haven't played the others. I have Undertale in my backlog and just never got around playing it.

Did you ever try Noita? It has a ridiculous amount of stuff to explore, so much that you could beat the game and not even see 1/8 of its content, or even realize it exists.

I'll look into this one, thanks

About 56 minutes of that time was spent fighting or returning to the final boss. I still think Eigong was better, but it turned out closer than I expected, considering.

I won't say I'm not coming back to Silksong ever again, but I definitely feel like playing something else now.

I started Detroit: Become Human. I know it's an unpopular opinion to like David Cage's games, but I'm a fan; only about a half hour in, and I'm enjoying it. It's not so much a game as it is an experiences, and I'm on board. Seeing the choice tree and learning that my choices have weight is interesting to me; things can go very differently depending on the choices I make. The on-going problem is my lack of familiarity with the PS5 controls; the quick-time choices have me looking down at the controller. I have to read my options, then look down to see which option applies to which button, and it's a bit frustrating. I'll get more comfortable, I'm sure, but I'll probably be doing a lot of trophy cleanup once I get through this at least once.
