These mission tasks in MGSV are anything from trivial to absolutely fucking ridiculous. The worst offenders being anything with listening to NPCs.

Example of the Kojima ass-hattery involved in the one I’m trying to complete now from Mission 14, and the worst part is the actual guide says to use the phantom cigar to speed up time, but every time I’ve done so when no patrols are near me I get an instant alert which fails these stupid tasks.

The only reason I’m sticking with it is because it’s the last trophy I need and it’s too much time and effort invested now to quit. Fuck.

After Sekiro I’m done with going out of my way to Platinum any game because I just don’t care anymore.

No, Darksiders I & II are way closer to God of War and DMC, than Dark Souls. The only time DS played an influence in the series is III.
Would have been hard for dark souls to influence darksiders 1 considering it came out after. Darksiders 2 was release about a year after dark souls 1 so the game was probably already well in production and couldn't have been influenced by it. Darksiders design philosophy was pretty much always to combine elements from other popular video game (1 literally has a portal gun) so I have no doubt that they would have borrowed elements from it if had come out earlier.

In this case, they didn't so much forget about it as intentionally lie about it in order to keep the group from falling apart. YMMV whether that's better or worse. Speaking of, I managed to get Tartaglia for my roster at the last possible chance by cleaning out the event shop, so I'm pretty happy about that.
It's just always weird that the game/the traveller treat Tartaglia like he's a lovable rogue when he's actually the closest thing the story has to pure evil, I just did his story quest and it makes the entire things so weird, why am I covering up for this guy all the time?

I got him twice during this event, which I'm so-so on since his C1 isn't that useful and that means I'm not gonna get Hu Tao next. I'll probably only do the next banner until I get Thoma and then I'll start saving for whoever comes after (I hope they bring Zhongli back soon).

Damn straight. Though I highly doubt they would have copy Dark Souls with the first game, had the former came out earlier. There are juggling enough on their plate. The game would have been even more unfocused. I do find it ironic though that the third game takes elements from not only Dark Souls, but the Lords of Shadows games. Mainly, Fury's whip attacks.

With a statement like that, that's less reminding you anything about and more outright saying that they're influenced by Dark Souls. If it reminded you, you didn't make that clear.

And you're not in the "wrong" for saying it reminded you. Though I do find it a bit odd. Plus, it reminds me too much of when every game critic out in the sphere is comparing everything to Dark Souls, regardless if it made sense or not.

I'm not trying to start any dumb bullcrap if that's what your statement is implying. I have no need for it nor the patience for it.

Still, it's pretty clear where each game took its influence from. The only one that took influence from Dark Souls is Darksiders III. That is all.

Started playing this the other day, idk why. I think I just needed something as far as humanly possible from a Ubisoft game and this just happened to come out recently. Sorry cant help you obtain it, gotta use your own internet skills search to through the murky Archives of the web.

If you're at world level 5+ you can lower it to easily get trough it. Otherwise you can just repeatedly do the first encounter to grind the resource that let you buy the bonus so runs get easier. Still beyond that you can just rush the boss and then just spam the shigigami that do damage, 3 of them per bosses will kill them without you even having to do anything.

I did the whole thing never using a secondary team, I started less than 2 months ago so I don't have many characters, my only fire character is the cooking girl that everyone gets for free (and she's still C0). Everyone gets a healer since you're guaranteed to get Noelle (and she's pretty good even C0), plus you can use a shikigami that heal. Quite frankly I'd say the event is really easy and even if you can't do it, you're not really missing out that much, it doesn't gate any content, isn't part of the main story and the storyline is quite silly (it's another one those events where everyone conveniently forget that Tartaglia is a mass murdering psycho who tried to nuke the biggest city in the world).
Thanks, I beat it and got the free character. I however couldn't beat the last one.

Have you finished the Inazuma MSQ arc yet? Because I can think of two examples of people further gone than Tartaglia, and if they don't count because of tragic backstories, then stick Childe in your pot and wait a couple weeks because he's got one of those too.
Edit to clarify: I am perfectly aware that a tragic backstory does not absolve you of the sins you commit because of it, only making it understandable why they were committed if it's done right.

As for why the Traveler does the things they do in his arc, it's because they at least on some level agreed with his closing statement even before they heard it: If nothing else, he doesn't want the kid to know how far gone he is, and neither does Traveler.

Seriously there are songs made about this guy, it's kind of funny. I couldn't get him as I got Mona C1 instead so crit snapshots for me.



And he's also fun to play given Tectone using him for months.

Crysis 3 definitely has the best gameplay out of all the games. All the options you get for weapons and ways to stealth around or take out your enemies are in good variety. The Predator Bow is a fucking game breaker. I am starting see how people say it's a shorter game, but I don't exactly see that as bad thing. What people seem to forget to mention is that a lot of these missions are long! Crysis 1 & 2 have more levels, but a lot of them are not that long. Though the first game drags at the last 1/3 and becomes a slog. Plus, 3 brings back secondary objectives that reward you for risky exploration. Something that was missing in 2.

The game has a total of 7 missions, and I did skip the tutorial. I am currently on mission 5, Red Star Rising. So far my play time is 3:47:50, so I've been going through the game pretty quickly. I have not rushed and did nearly every secondary objective so far. The game may be shorter, but that does not make Crysis 3, any less good. I'll finish up this game probably by Wednesday or Thursday.

On topic speaking of stealth, I realized that only having the shitty prototype stealth camo in MGSV was making things far more difficult for me in these mission tasks. Not to excuse some of the asinine requirements with listening to and tailing certain NPCs across the maps and waiting for several in-game hours to trigger the next portions, but developing rechargeable camo that also lasts much longer than a few seconds will be greatly beneficial in getting these tasks done, among others.

What the game doesn’t clearly tell you is you need to extract a meta materials specialist to make this advanced gear, which is its own mission task in mission 17. So I did all the unfinished ones there and then sold off a chunk of my online stockpile of resources to get some more shit developed, right before Konami decided to do server maintenance. I had to get to bed anyways.

So I finished Hollow Knight... I think. At least I defeated the final boss and reached the end credits. And my overwhelming thoughts were: "...that's it?"

I don't know if anyone cares about spoilers in this game, but I'll put this as such anyway.
Like, that's really it? After such a long journey through increasingly epic, dark and surreal environments and challenging bosses, after waking all the dreamers... you just waltz unmolested into the final boss fight that's right next to the starting area, and he falls over like a house of cards. Granted, I did max out the needle, but it wasn't that hard to do anyway. When I beat him I was expecting a transition to a second phase, or a final epic area to be unlocked, but nope, he just falls over and the final cutscene is just as abrupt. Anticlimactic to say the least. And my 91% completion percentage suggests that I've seen the majority of what this game has to offer. I There's probably still some unexplored corners of the map I haven't found, and...

Oh, apparently the Radiance, whom I assumed to be an optional superboss, turns out to be the secret "true ending" boss. Maybe I'll have to go back then...

It's a lot like the final boss of Dark Souls: You aren't fighting a god at the peak of their power; you're putting an old, broken-down thing out of their misery.

Soft hint: If you don't yet know exactly what the final boss is and why you're fighting them, you haven't done enough to unlock the true ending yet. And it also makes for a more satisfying conclusion generally if you have that knowledge. A lot of people here can probably tell you exactly what you need to do and where you need to go.

You can load your 'completed' save file and keep exploring to find what you need for the true ending without having to start a new game or NG+ or anything.

Yeah, you have to do some extra stuff to earn the privilege of fighting The Radiance. Among them, the white palace, which is a "fun" area.

Well, as I've said, I'm really bad at this whole 'finishing games'-thing, and to illustrate, here are some games I'm 'currently playing';

-Hollow Knight (just finished the Soul Master boss fight, god that sucked)
-Undertale (that training dummy is killing me)
-Spiritfarer (I have to drop Gwen off, which sucks because I accidently sped through her by upgrading her home fully in one go)
-Legend of Zelda: BOTW (did both the Zora and Goron areas, am currently milling about near the castle/forest)
EDIT: All Switch games I just noticed too, huh.

Keep in mind, this is just the games I've played in the past couple of months (with actual stories to complete, unlike say Hot Pursuit Remastered). Other big titles sitting uncompleted include RDR2 (I'm in the middle of the whole family feud nonsense) and Witcher 3 (where I have played maybe 10 minutes past the tutorial area/griffin fight). So, to try and fix this, I'm going to try and sit down and just finish a game, namely Alien: Isolation. I just restarted it for some seasonal spooky seasons (I only ever got to right after that first guy you meet buys it at the hands of the Alien), but it also works as it is one of the first games I have on my list to complete (thanks to being 'A' in the alphabet).

I found the Radiance worse than the White Palace. I think it just tipped a bit too far into bullet hell

Just finished Pony Island. It's a fun short little game about being trapped as a playtester for the devil. It has very nice CRT glitch style and some light action and puzzling. It's a little short, but in my opinion it's better a game leaves you wanting more than overstays its welcome.

I played the game twice and got 16/24 golden tickets, then looked up a guide and got the rest. Some of them were a little too obscure to find, but that's okay because the reward for finding them all isn't really that great.

Finally got the more annoying listening mission tasks out of the way in MGSV. The only thing is some of them will need to be replayed on the total stealth or extreme varieties later. But at least now I’ll have the best stealth gear for those.

I also have to say, sneaking into the bed of a truck for a ride and letting the enemy basically do all the legwork for you is awesome.

Finished Kingdom Hearts 2. I didn't do everything, not even close, but I got through the main story and that was what I was planning to do. I still think it holds up really well, with a lot of depth to its systems but not difficult to get into, at least in gameplay. And that's what really matters, and where it really shines.

Moving on to Kingdom Hearts 3 now, which I had a worse initial impression of, but maybe this time I'll be able to click with it.
