True that, I don't actually own the album due to the fact that A: Nirvana was my first ever actual 'band I liked' and therefore I was quite young, so asking for an album with songs named 'Rape Me' made me feel somewhat uneasy with my parents and B: Couldn't find it when I went to HMV.

But from what I have read, Nirvana were going for more of an unpolished feel than Nevermind.

Yeah, they weren't satisfied with how polished Nevermind sounded. In Utero was meant to sound like a primal scream. And it certainly did.

I wash my hands off of Metallica, learning that their music was used to torture prisoners in Guantanamo Bay and James Heartfield (singer) said

"It's strong; it's music that's powerful. It represents something that they don't like ? maybe freedom, aggression? I don't know? freedom of speech.

If this wasn't such a horrible case there could be countless jokes about that. When me and my friends discuss where we would send the worst kind of scum if we ever became dictators of the world we usually end up with a padded room where the sound of techno torments them every waking hour. The fact that it has been done actually makes me sad. Also by the worst kind of scum I mean "artists" like Britney Spears and those who make techno.
