Shadow Warrior- It's taking me back to the days of Soldier of Fortune where you're blowing limbs off in a very viseral sort of way. But you know much newer, better dismemberment, lots of blood, a sword, tons of over the top violence, silly jokes. That all said it's incredibly well made for what it is, the sword combat feels awesome, you have magic which is really really interesting you double tap a direction and hit right click and you power your ability up, or left click for sword abilities.
The combat is extremely hectic and the guns are not all TAKIKAL where you aim down sight, no it's cowboy-fire a revolver, a explosive crossbow, a double barrel shotgun that turns into a quad shotgun and of course the sword.

Ys Memories of Celceta-
PS VITA HAZ NO GAMES, shaddap, wrong. I never played a Ys game, I saw the artwork and I HAVE heard of the series so jumped into it without knowing squat on it. It's really fun, the story isn't super amazing but it's a fun time with active combat with teamates that do better against different types of enemies. It's a bit hard to explain, apparently it's more like Ys 7 than other games in the series, but.....I never played those. It's a bad habit of mine to start at the end of the series and go back...like Firefly, starting with the movie "Huh...it says there's a show ........god dammit".

The Vita is a system that I got expecting there to be nothing really good on it beyond stuff coming out in the future because of all the freaking hate against it and I've already amassed 13 games for it, not including whatever PSP/PSN titles I nabbed and it's been awesome.

I don't understand all of the criticism this game gets. The combat was improved, they added a dialogue wheel with indicators to let you know how an option is going to be said, and the story was pretty good aside from most of the game focusing on mages.

In general, people disagree.
I, and many others, feel like combat went down the shitter. Wave based spawns with enemies appearing from nowhere, "Push button, something awesome happens" combat and controls, fights that were rigged against you not through tactics or intelligence, but by spamming a lot of ministunning enemies with high health to permastun your party - there was little I enjoyed from the combat in DA2.
The dialogue wheel was a bad move. Telling you the outcome hinders role playing ability by introducing meta-knowledge of how the other party will react, and leads to "Gaming" the system rather than going with it.
The story was a load of nothing. You spend some time becoming rich and famous, and doing generally fuck all, and then finally at the end it actually hits you with a bit of plot, but that plot thread is BS. This is ignoring characters being revived from the dead because reasons, or changing their personality and traits for the new plot.

A lot of what you liked about the game, other people hated, and that's where the criticism comes from.

OT:
ATM, nothing. Haven't been playing anything for a few weeks now actually. Busy prepping for a trip around Europe and Japan instead.
Before that it was Pokemon Y, and Kamidori Alchemy Meister.

Pokemon Y's good. The world is more enjoyable to explore than the world of Black and White, with far less room being wasted on giant, empty bridges and the like. The 3D and curved terrain were implemented in a way that was intuitive, unlike in Black and White, with movement capabilities for moving in directions other than the normal 2D plane of movement in prior games. This meant you always knew where you were going, unlike in that curved city in Black/White which was a pain to navigate. Whilst some gyms maintained the annoying slow-animations-to-get-somewhere-rather-than-a-puzzle like Black and White seemed to love, there were a number of gyms that didn't do this, and instead you have to solve a simple puzzle with little to no animation involved. Whilst the plot was kinda lacking, it did have an emotional finish, and I preferred the dynamic between the group of 5 friends with their own personalities to the general previous games where you had a rival and that was it. That's one thing I'll praise Black/White for too actually, though there were only 2 there.
In general I'm enjoying it. Would have gotten bored of it by now, but I play it with my girlfriend and we are racing to 750 or however many Pokemon there are now to catch.
Kamidori is also quite good. Interesting turn based RPG mechanics that I quite enjoy, and whilst not having played Fire Emblem I have been told they are like Fire Emblem, but without whatever problems it has. Can't really judge that though. 3 different routes that have very different stories and endings, a good New Game Plus system that allows you to breeze through old content, but gives you new content that is incredibly difficult even on your third or fourth playthrough, in addition to new characters and plotlines. The only downside that some people may find with it is that it is an eroge, and hence there are sex scenes and all that. But, I don't see that as an issue myself, and I enjoy the game outside of said scenes too, so yeah. My only issue is that, barring 3 NG+ characters, all the big, bad enemies you run into that join your team are majorly nerfed upon doing so. From 300 HP and hitting 50s to 120HP hitting 20s. Is kind of made up for by the fact that NG+ lets you have what is pretty much literally a god in your party, with maybe not its full strength but close enough to it. Only the level 90+ dungeons are difficult with her in your party.

Finally found Fire Emblem to the Wii, I never found the one for GameCube in my country and on Ebay the prices are ridiculous! Found the one to Wii for a reasonable price, 45? (that was postage included ), and bought it. Enjoying it a lot!
Loving the strategy but the difficulty is very strange. It started of super hard (for me anyways, maybe because I hadn't played before?) and then it got to a challenging level, failed every map once or twice and then made it. Now I am pretty far and it's getting super hard again, like at the start, but before that I just ran through every map with ease... very strange difficulty curve!
But it's a very fun game!

[Re]Playing a lot of anime series on my PS3 (Most of them very character-driven... In other words, they might bore someone who's not used to those kind of series...)

-Kerbal Space Program in Career. Eventually I'll be able to get to the Mun AND get back without dying or abandoning a kerbal.

The real fun is sending rescue missions with extra empty capsules and trying to land close enough to the stranded Kerbal to actually make rescue a possibility.

OT:
Been playing Dark Souls constantly. A friend gave it to me for Christmas and I fell in love. Midway through second playthough and all I can say is that Sorcery is ridiculously OP.

I also picked up Spec Ops: The Line on the XBL sale just tonight. I've been wanting to play it for a while and I feel I sort of should, considering it was a significant section of an A paper I wrote for my college english class.

I've been screwing around in Left 4 Dead 2 and Counter Strike: GO a fair bit as well. Picked the former up for free and the latter up for under 5 dollars. I'd never played CS before, so it's neat to see what it's like.

Divinity: Dragon Commander.

It is a neat little RTS set in a steampunk universe, with a risk type world view where your goal is to take over the world.
It is pretty standard except that you can at your whims quit the RTS view and take over a dragon with a JETPACK!

Pure awesome.

Currently playing WoW on my sisters account. I just want to get through MoP to see if it's really as great as people have said. Hating most of the time spent in the game... Had almost forgotten how anti-social and rude the player base is.

Also gotta say it's gotten waaaay too casual. I've been one shotting every single mob with my hunter since I started playing. He was an old character I had on her account, at level 52(level 70 now), and his Aimed Shot currently does like 100% more damage than the enemies have health.

Well:

Team Fortress 2 - All the time. I never stop playing it. WHich is a lie, since I do. I play it most days, it's just a fun release for me.

Runner 2 - Fun, with a FUCK in the middle, so FuFUCKn. Because I suck at it. It has one of the steepest difficulty curves (at least for me). But it is really fun, pick it up in the Current Humble Bundle; it's worth it.

Pokemon X/Y - been doing some capturing for decent IV and nature Pokemon in Y, whilst doing a WOnder Trade challenge in X. I've finished the latter, and will be restarting it next time I visit my friend (or he visits me) due to Chronic Mono-3ds Syndrome. It's incredibly debilitating to Pokemon Players with both games.

Been enjoying Mount & Blade Warband as of late, bought it years ago tried playing it, couldn't get a grasp on the combat, so I gave up. Just went back to the game last week, and NOW I understand how to play, and I am having a blast.

Been playing some Rayman: Legends again, all the while contemplating whether I should just go back to the superior Rayman: Origins.

I've also been trying to get a hold of REmake. I wants more of that retro Resident Evil.

Been playing Harvest moon - a new beginning a lot recently. My farm's blooming quite well, as well as the town. I'm at winter year 1, but I still have lots to do. Especially modeling my farm and the town to make room for more things on them. That tends to take a while to get right too. Tis a bit fiddly, but I like it.

Also, soul hackers. Since I was just getting crazy without an SMT, I settled on that one. Surprisingly, while getting mixed opinions, I quite like it. Maybe I'm just a sucker for dungeon crawlers, kind of like etrian odyssey. But there's grinding involved, if you're the sort of person to keep fusing demons a lot. And I do mean a lot.

That said, I should stop having background noise and let the sounds in those games do the talking. I keep getting distracted by the completionist or other things, it's tiring.

-After last weekend's Elder Scrolls Online Beta, I have had a strong urge to play Morrowind again.

From what I have noticed nowadays, you can just go through it if you're smart about it. Then again, there are people that say devil survivor is easy if you go grinding.

also, if I say grinding in soul hackers, I mean the grinding to get fused demons out of fused demons and keep repeating until you have made your perfect demon to overcome a challenge. Though to be fair, I don't think soul hackers is challenging if at all. No bosses that made me go 'Huh that's overpowered... now what?' It's feeling quite straight forward as RPGs go. So, the grind aspect doesn't need to be there if you want to get through it. Maybe a few talks here and there and you're fine as far as demons go.

Seeing as I just finished Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, its mostly just Battlefield 4 multiplayer, although I still do have Metro: Last Light and Dishonored to even touch, and all that in between the occasional spout of Warthunder.

So mostly games with high production values, but I do have a couple of indie games that I need to try out seeing as I got the new Humble Bundle and pretty much all of those games have cards in them so they're worth the try anyway.

I keep on having that issue too. I really enjoy the story in the first Mass Effect, but the combat really lets it down (especially considering how the combat takes up most of the game). On my 3rd playthrough I got to Noveria before caving in and just downloading a save with all the choices that I would have made anyway. Better to do that than just stumble through a game that I just really don't enjoy playing.

I've also been playing Skyrim since... November? Anyway, I finished the final boss on my first character yesterday and I'm wondering where to go from here.
