I am currently playing victoria 2. A bit hard to get in but once you do, the detail and complexity adds a lot of immersion. It's great.

Right now I'm playing Dragon Age 2. Please don't murder me in my sleep for liking it.

I just finished my first playthrough as a rouge and I just started a warrior run today. I haven't tried the mage yet, but I generally don't care for magic stuff so I likely never will.

I don't understand all of the criticism this game gets. The combat was improved, they added a dialogue wheel with indicators to let you know how an option is going to be said, and the story was pretty good aside from most of the game focusing on mages.

And to the OP, is Echo Night related to Echo Night Beyond? I figured the names were too similar to be a coincidence.
As someone who hated Dragon Age 2, i can say that you probably just have a different taste than the people that hate dragon age 2.

I hated the new combat, because it was dumbed down and removed any need or in fact possibility to use tactics (stupid respawns). I hated the dialogue wheel, because it also was a dumbed down version of the standart dialogue box. Instead of reading the actual text you always just go towards funny, evil or angel depending on what kind of character your playing and what the other character likes.
And the story was just retarded in my opinion. A story doesn't has to be about the world ending, but it has to be about SOMETHING. not just a collection of random shit happening to a guy. Additionaly when an important part of your story involves a character going fullblown retard just to add a bit of drama, you know your not doing a good job at writing. (Anders, merril i am looking at you!)

But if you liked it, good for you.
Now, i am going to leave this knife here on your nightstand. No particular reason ... just looks good there you know...
good night.

I'm doing my first playthrough of Bravely Default at the moment and absolutely loving it.

My 3DS hasn't been turned off in days because I don't want to lose out of my town being built and sleep points.
Glad to see I'm not the only one :p. I'm loving Bravely Default atm, its got some strong oldschool Final Fantasy vibes about it and the city upgrade system means that my 3DS won't be getting much downtime for quite some time now. I highly recommend it to anyone that loved any of the 2D Final Fantasy's, FFV in particular.

Other than that, I've been playing some Persona 3 again and working my way though NG+ mode for Tales of Xillia on Unknown difficulty (still waiting for Xillia 2)

Just got my PC working (with help from somebody on this forum, mr IOC), while it was broken I bought a few games on steam so I have been dabbling on them to give them a little whirl.

Most of my time has been spent on xcom enemy within, which has been kicking my fucking ass! I played most of the vanilla game on easy with very little trouble, I am playing on easy now and soldiers are dying left and right, panic levels are rising like fucking crazy.

How the fuck people play on impossible is like how Koreans play starcraft, not possible!
Are you sure it's not just line-of-sight glitches? I heard the expansion put quite a few annoying bugs into the game, not the least of which were squad-wiping, monitor-punching wall-hacks by aliens from an entire room and floor away.
I have been sectoid and thin mint (by which I mean thin men) sniped almost literally across map before.

I have gotten revenge a few times though, one time yesterday I had a situation where my heavy was posted up behind full cover, one sectoid was posted up on full cover on the corner of a wall and his buddy stood behind him (think of a breaching team about to enter a room), I had a 55% on the sectoid on the corner and the guy who I shouldn't have been able to hit I had 89%. So I leveled the wall and the sectoid!

Different strokes for different folks I guess.

The respawns did suck when they happened, and I don't think getting jumped by Arcane Horrors right after fighting a squad of Golems is anyone's idea of fun. THe combat was faster though, and health items were on a cooldown timer meaning you couldn't spam them if you got caught in a tight spot. Cross-class combos were also a good idea in my opinion, but poorly implemented seeing as one could charge through normal without ever using one.

Anders was a jackass. He's lucky he was my only healer so I let him live.

And just a knife? That's a lot less than the team of mercenaries I was expecting.

Well, I've been on a dating/life sim binge, so I picked up this cute little game called "Magical Diary"
you can find a demo of it here:http://www.hanakogames.com/magical_diary.shtml

Its basically "your life, in Hogwarts." You're a student in a school for magic users, you have to plan your schedule around which types of magic you want to learn, maintain relationships, all that jazz. Apparently there's dungeon crawls or something too, but the demo quits before then. Some other things that amused me is the default name is "Mary Sue," and there is both a cute stat and a weird stat.

Borderlands 2. Finally got around to playing it. It's pretty damn fun so far. Haven't tried co-op yet, but I might do that when I find some folks to play it with.

I've also played Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D on my new 3DS XL. I really like it. Some levels are actually quite difficult, which makes it even more enjoyable, in my opinion.

Kerbal space program. I set up a hohmann transfer to jool, did a hard aerobrake to laythe, nailed an intercept and aerobraked straight into orbit.

Glorious. Cost nothing. After mucking around there, I used a grav slingshot at vall to get into tylo orbit, and then landed, and had enough juice to escape.

So good

So what I'm getting from this thread is, on average, people play like 4 games a the same time. Which I suppose is better than serially jumping from one game to the next without looking back. Don't know if I could manage though. Best case scenario I have a casual game to fall back on whenever I'm tired of my "main" game.

I had picked up Demons Souls on the steam winter sale, and since I now have an xbox controller I've been playing it pretty consistently. I find the difficulty rollercoaster to be pretty odd, but it hasn't turned out nearly as hard as I thought it would. I decided early on to pick a class and a gift without outside influence, but refer to a guide with respect to how leveling up and stats work, since I had heard so much about diminishing returns ect. and I likely won't be willing to restart if I just make a crap character by accident.

Still though, fun game.

On the side I'm replaying Oracle of Ages, the last Zelda game I really enjoyed. It's a little disappointing, since I'm finding the dungeons and progression mindlessly easy so far, despite not really remembering any puzzle solutions.

Thats about all, I usually play one main game and have maybe one other game that's either portable or requires less attention/effort to play on the go at once.

I've been trying to get to grips with Crusader Kings II which I'm enjoying, even if I'm not particularly good at it.

I've also started playing the Witcher, which is also really good.

Four games presently, alternating between then: Gothic 3, Tomb Raider 3, Rome: Total War and Mount & Blade: Warband.

Gothic 3: One of my all-time favourite games that I've decided to replay. Nothing really more than that honestly, just back in the mood for it. Of course, it's fully patched and modded, to make it fun and playable.

Tomb Raider 3: For some reason a short while ago, I felt the urge to play the old Tomb Raider games. Not sure why. So I decided to play the one I'm least-familiar with due to me never getting anywhere as a kid (too fucking hard). Well, I am doing better now that I'm older, though still not great.

Rome: Total War: Currently playing the Viking Invasion II and Rise of Persia mods. It's my favourite in the Total War series. I think it has the best engine and the greatest selection of mods. I'm not playing this one much though, just every now and again.

Mount & Blade: Warband: This is basically the game I play whenever I'm bored, as my near 1,100 hours clocked into represents. I've been a regular on the AUS online servers now for the past couple of years, so it's a game I'm pretty much always playing now and again. Whenever I'm not in the mood for anything else.

Yeah I hear you man, Tomb Raider 3 is a pretty challenging game! I find I always have to turn up the brightness on my TV cause it's so damn dark all the time in that game and I hate running out of flares.

Dark Souls. I fell utterly in love with it once I completed the gargoyles boss. This is how I like difficulty in my games. Plus, the few colorful NPCs really contrast well with the isolated setting.

I've been trying to finish off Persona 3 FES and have been playing a round of League/Smite a month.

Funny you should mention that. I had to stop playing the PS1 version entirely when I got to London due to that issue. I bought a PC copy now and waiting for it to arrive through the post. The PC version has those kinds of issues fixed, from what I've read.

Warframe on the PS4. Having a bit of fun with with it, as I like the art design. Playing as a Saryn Warframe with a boomerang for fun stealthy kills... that my co-op players ruin my running throughout the level tipping off all the enemies. Still, BOOMERANG!

I tried doing the hideous and immpossible no alarm trophy. But I have no idea if it means literally no alarms, or not setting off mechanical alarms.
Enemies can be alarmed, they just can't set off the touch-pad alarms on the walls putting enemies into a constant state of pissed. Managed to get it myself easily enough.

But I wished they'd tell you that you fucked up your chances for a trophy, tried pacifist, I thought I got all the way through without killing ANYONE, but then it occurred to me that I had accidentally killed the two drug dealers early on in the game by throwing a basketball at them whilst they were unconscious. Fuck. That. shit.
