Not Even Wrong: the Failure of String Theory and the Continuing Challenge to Unify the Laws of Physics.
I love me some science. I read A Brief History of Everything by Ken Wilber, then Unexplained Mysteries of the Universe by someone I can't remember. I have this buddy who's a physics major at a big university around here and he loves to enlighten me on how ridiculous the universe is.

This video is a trip. My eyes get dilated and gloss over at the 5th dimension every time.

Before you bash CounterStrike, I don't give a shit.
Actually, I found a copy of COunter-Strike: Source, that came with HL2: Deathmatch and DoD: Source at my local Gamestation, and the guys behind the counter didn't know that it was there.
Oh, yeah I guess I should probably clarify that I mean CounterStrike: Source. The older one is some garbage.
I'm tempted to buy it when I go back next week

Anyway, I'm reading Escapist Articles...that's about it

Currently I'm reading the Gantz manga.
[sub]And Jesus Christ if it isn't infinitely better than the anime...[/sub]

Apparently the writers thought "Hey, maybe the audience won't be able to suspend their disbelief to the point where our characters will stop and have a conversation mid-battle and not die, even while surrounded by bloodthristy, kill-crazy aliens, so let's not do that."

And I am forever grateful because of it.

In fact, the pacing as a whole is a lot faster. You don't nearly get the sensation that any of the subject matter is filler for the sake of being filler.

So a few months back.. this crazy thing happened to me. To save some money, my dad decided it would be a good idea to switch to a different internet provider. Unfortunately, there were a bunch of problems with our modem and existing router, and my room was left without internet. What am I supposed to do without my 4 hours of CounterStrike? I probably have addiction problems, but that's not the point here.

Along with a few other lifestyle changes that came, the most prominent one that we're going to discuss is reading. I decided to read all the books people had given me in the past few months, after looking over them for more instantaneous gains like headshots. A handful of classics like 1984 and The Catcher in the Rye, along with some contemporary stuff like House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski and Invisible Monsters by Chuck Palahniuk.

It's the best. I've become obsessed with reading.

After logging some hours on CounterStrike when my internet connection came back around, I felt like I was wasting time more than ever. Not that I ever thought video games really gave me anything other than quick reaction times and caffeine tolerance. Reading is a good time, for sure.

Before you bash CounterStrike, I don't give a shit.

What are you reading?
I am reading "Rant" For the hyperbabillioth time.

It's the story of ... I don't really think i could explain. If you like chuck palahniuk, The master of "What the fuck", you should definitly check "Rant" out. what i think to be his best book. It's like he took all sence of established conventinal writting and slam dunked it into a volcano(while I'm making yahtzee refrences). All though you would know how weird his writting is from Invisible mosters.

I'm sure you have the words "Jump to" permanently burned into your eyesight.

Just finishing "Mostly Harmless" by Douglas Adams.
Just finished reading "The Good War" by Studs Terkel (This is an excellent book. I recommend it to everyone, even if you don't like books about war. Makes you think, man.)

I've been thinking about reading that. It's one of those books that's referanced all the time, and I feel left out. It's on the list for sure.

I bought that whole series of those bad boys at a half price bookstore a couple weeks ago. It's quite a thick one, and it's all poetry.. so it's rather intimidating. I'll read it eventually!

Oh yeah, he's the man. I'm actually reading his book Survivor right now.. it's pretty awesome. Like right now, it's right here. If I weren't typing, I'd be holding it and reading it right now. It's great thus far.

Invisible Monsters was a trip.. have you listened to the Panic! at the Disco album that goes along with it? A Fever You Can't Sweat Out, is the name of the album.

All of his short stories are awesome too.

I'm reading Henry IV of Germany 1056-1106 by I.S. Robinson (it's awful - medieval historians need to be fed to the Kraken), Czechoslovakia by Maria Dowling which is actually very good and Critical Companion to the Russian Revolution by various historians and is also very good. However, those are just books I have to read in order to stay in uni and not fail at life. As for leisure reading I just finished Flow My Tears the Policeman Said by the almighty Philip K. Dick and I've nearly finished Breakfast of Champions by Kurt Vonnigurt and it's an excellent read. It's presented to you as though you are an alien who knows nothing of Earth or its inhabitants ways; I genuinely feel like I'm some extraterrestrial life form who is being introduced to the world for the first time. Very funny and insightful and I highly recommend it to every one.
