Mormons. There was this one back in High School that left an awful taste in my mouth. I'm not a big fan of Mitt Romney either, so that's not helping that out. In all fairness, I'm not a big fan of overly religious folk, but yeah... That's mine. Not really that proud of it.
As a Mormon can I ask why? I probably already know the answer though, because I've met some Mormons who act like there isn't a world out there where people think and behave differently than them and it just drives me crazy.

My guess is one word: Twilight.

Religious people. And by that, I mean people who bring up their religion in conversation. To me, it seems they are always trying to make the world follow their specific belief.

Hairdressers: Poorly educated, often racist, chatterboxes, nicks my ear with a knife. What's not to hate?

People who like techno music, especially women (for some reason)

Fat people. i blame my mother for this one.

Romani people.

And many mooooooore!

To be honest, I'd be worried if you weren't wary around rapists (especially if you were a woman), or for that matter, anyone who'd committed a crime of a certain extreme in the past.
While that should go without saving, I have met and befriended people who have done other crimes, including murder. It wasn't easy, but people change. I try my hardest to accept that. For the most part I've been pretty accurate with that acceptance. However, I have been assaulted before. It didn't come to rape, but the intent was there. When I look back on it, I'm unable to visualize or formulate any reason that I would force myself upon another sexually. Whereas, under certain circumstances, if I had absolutely had to I would consider killing someone. Given the kind of person I am, I would never want to do it, but I might have to if there is no other way.

I hope that makes sense. :)
Yeah, that makes sense. I guess I'm just looking at it from my own perspective. Since I'm not friends with anyone who's stolen, raped or killed, I guess I can't imagine myself befriending someone like that, even if they expressed remorse and/or claimed to have been rehabilitated.

With books, I tend to impulsively avoid anything with cover art that looks like it's trying too hard to be "cool", "dark", or "badass", because I assume that they'll be pandering schlock that claim to be targeted at "young adults", but are really written for someone of the mental age of 13. I've heard such great things about the Night Angel trilogy, a lot of it from other Escapists, but seeing the cover always activates my bias, and I haven't been able to bring myself to buy it yet.

As for people, if someone says something along the lines of "reading sucks", I tend to think far less of their intelligence. I know that isn't really fair, and I'm trying to work on fixing that.

I feel really bad about saying this one, but I tend to assume that obese children will be incredibly obnoxious. I really don't know why I have this bias, but I do. Thankfully, I've never acted on it, but being so reflexively annoyed by them does make me wonder, "what the fuck is wrong with me?". Again, I'm trying to fix this one.

1) Fantasy series are a waste of my time because, despite potentially good characters and plots, I can't get over the whole 'Everything can be solved with magic' thing. It depresses me because magic isn't real, and I'd much prefer Sci-Fi where (if the author has done their research) at least I get a glimpse of the POSSIBLE.
Phew, I think my bile meter is drained for the day. Thanks anonymous thread creator!
Actually, read R.A. Savatore's 'Homeland'. Magic is very limited in good fantasy. And saying that magic doesn't exist therefore fantasy sucks is unfair, given that Sci-fi has aliens in it.

I'm prejudiced against the term "prejudice." It has negative connotations that don't fit with its use in a scope this wide.

Sadly, there's not really a superior option; the closest I can think of, "preconception" is unwieldy.

Muslims

This stems from before good ol' 9/11 though. I simply dislike the general culture, the idea behind the headscarf, how women are treated as marital property and sometimes ostracized by their own family, and how teenage muslim men call non-muslim women sluts because they wear a skirt.

I don't really care if magic is "limited" - it seems pointless to me. Most of the time the same task could be accomplished in a completely realistic fashion, but the author uses magic as a crutch, whether there are rules or not (and the rules are inevitably broken).

Sci-Fi has aliens, yes, but on the scale of plausibility between "definitely real" and "visions from acid-induced fever dreams", aliens are closer to real than being able to manipulate the fabric of reality with your mind.

Plus, some of the best selling Sci-Fi novels ever made don't feature Aliens. Like the "Dune" series - not a single alien, or any of Jules Verne's work. Sci-fi simply requires some level of plausibility, while fantasy - by definition - features implausible mechanics.

So when someone makes a work of fiction that is generally disliked then it's the author's religion's fault?

I really dislike stupid people, not meaning to flatter myself or anything but I do have an above average intelligence and I do like to think about everything and nothing. I mean people who don't even try to think are the worst. What's the point of being part of the most intelligent species on Earth if you don't do anything with it?

Oh and I really don't like people who are that patriotic. It's why my trip to America left me slightly bemused on why every other house had an American flag around it. To be fair I did visit the weeks around the 4th of July but still.

I mean a little bit of national identity is one thing but being blindly loyal to a country you were randomly born in for no real reason is just dumb.

Overall though i'm non-judgemental to a fault. Never stick me on a jury for gods sake.
I don't get patriotism either. Why should you be so proud of the place you just happen to be born in. Patriotism is a very selfish thing because what it really seems to be saying is that you love that country because by some random happen-stance you came into existence there.

It was a joke. I didn't say it was a sensible way to think.

I'm the same with people who only listen to one genre of music (yes, this includes you, people who only listen to soundtracks). How do they not get bored?

I'll admit I have mixed feelings about gay men. I tend to see them the way many people see bronies: getting all up in your face about it because they crave validation. I'm sure there are plenty of gay men that are not so flamingly needy, who just go about their business without the need to draw attention to themselves.
Lesbians (and women in general) seem much more at peace with their sexuality.

Honestly, I don't care for Republicans or Mormons that much. Not going to get into details but I think most Republicans are dumb, and most Mormons are lazy.

Well....here comes the shit storm.

Bronies: Yes, I know bronies aren't all losers or something like that but when someone announces that their a brony I automatically put them in the "emotionally damaged" list.

Racist (sort of): Maybe it's my extreme time around red necks and the internet but when I see on the morning news that a black man has been arrested I can't help but go "Big surprise".

Thin girls who say "I'm fat": This instantly loses ANY form of respect I have for them; unless they have an actual problem where they always think their fat (We call this anorexia) they are attention seeking and I can't be bothered to give a fuck bout them.

"Cool dudes": You know the ones, sunglasses at all times, arms out of their trucks, always serious looking. Fuck them.

Whore clothing: I'm sorry, no, you may not be a whore, but if your wearing a low tank top and tight yoga pants in public then yes, you are acting like a whore to me. This is a two way street though, a guy walking around without a shirt and in shorts is the same way. (Unless he's moving something in the summer)

Extreme potheads: Now, if I hated pot heads as a whole I would have to abandon my closest friends. But smoking pot every once and then and smoking it every day are two different things, and if you smoke it every day I am automatically inclined to look down on you.

Teachers pets: Not people who do hard work, no no; people who pretend their smart, know how to milk the education system and probably couldn't name our vice president.
Oh? What's that? 90 on a US history quiz?
Well now that your done studying, the treaty of Versailles was the end of what war?
No, "Civil War" is not the correct answer -.-

When someone says they haven't seen Star Wars, they lose some respect points from me. Oddly enough, I don't get that reaction when dealing with people who didn't like it, just people who haven't seen it.

Also, Christians who don't follow any of the positive exercises of Christianity (love thy neighbor, etc.)
