Well, i was recent;y watching Spoiler warning on escapist legend Shamus Young's site 20 sided http://www.shamusyoung.com/twentysidedtale/?p=7926 and it made me want to start a new game of fallout 3. That in turn made me think about what my real life RPG stats would be.
Going by Fallout 3's special system, I think my stats would be
Strength:6
Perception:3
Endurance:7
Charisma:1
Intelligence: 8
Agility: 4
Luck:7
Edited for extra detail: I am only averagely strong, but i can endure quite a lot. My perception and awareness is awful though. One time, one of my friends was swinging a wooden plank behind my head for about 5 minuets without me noticing XD
Charisma is something I lack big time. I'm awful at speaking to people and presenting myself well.
Intelligence is of course my highest stat. I'm an A Level student who gets As' after all :p
Agility is something of a non factor as I spend most of my time sat on my arse playing games. And i have been very lucky recently, hence the 7
So, what are your real life RPG stats?
I ask you to base them on hoe you think they are reflected in real life. and i am basing mine on fallout 3 because that was the last rpg I played, please don't feel confined to fallout 3 for your stats

High intelligence and wisdom do usually mean mage. No matter the game i always take points away from the charisma type stat to put into intelligence and wisdom, it has been known to backfire in conversation options though XD

Depends on the game. In games like KOTOR or Fallout, a high intelligence will give you more skill points to spend. In KOTOR, a high wisdom stat means that force powers have more chance of affecting your opponent

Classic internet responses.

Lots of folks declaring high intelligence, and many of you choosing high charisma.

I'll run with the SPECIAL system as well, I suppose.

Strength: 6
Perception: 3
Endurance: 7
Charisma: 6
Intelligence: 8
Agility: 4
Luck: 3

A religious gym rat, but more of a runner/swimmer than a weight-lifter. Awful awareness and slightly sub-average reflexes--I'd never make a good ninja--but very gifted with languages and in general naturally bright. A good leader when I choose to be but not a standout, and usually on the receiving end of shitty luck. If this were Oblivion, I'd probably be a Battlemage or something.

The usual consensus is that it's same as the difference between dexterity and strength. Intelligence will usually affect your skills and learning capacity, while wisdom will affect your willpower.

The distinction dates back to the original D&D, I'm a bit too lazy to look for the specific definitions at this time of the night though.

No, I mean in reality. They just seem like the same thing.

What am I supposed to do with the remaining points? Oh I know! I'll put them in the "dumb jokes that only I find funny" category.

All set!

Good question. I think of INT as your ability to learn new skills and facts, whereas WIS is more of your intuition and ability to make sound choices.

(a high INT, low WIS person would be a 'book-smart' person who knows a lot but lacks 'common sense' as they say. A high WIS, low INT person wouldn't know as many facts or possibly skills but would be someone you would trust to always make the right move in risky situations)

Intelligence is more like booksmarts, whereas Wisdom would equate more to common sense, practicality, and arguably genuine insightfulness. You can be smart as all get-out, but be completely lacking in the whole "insight-into-the-world" business...as many past political leaders have amply proven.

Well, i suppose you can be really intelligent, but lack the wisdom to apply the knowledge properly or in the appropriate situations.
Wisdom implies a degree of common sense whereas intelligence does not

In reality, I guess Intelligence would represent "raw" brain power, while wisdom would represent knowledge and experience.
