3. Top Gear (UK version not the crappy American one)
I think the US version would be improved if they got rid of the chubby fellow in flannel

5. Gangland on History Channel
I liked this show until they did an episode on my neighborhood. They really over exaggerated how violent and bad it was. When the voice over said: " X neighborhood in the city of X is a violent and gang invested burrough" I was like "Hey my house! Why didn't I notice them filming my house?"

Anyhoo:
Breaking Bad
Mad Men
MASH
Always Sunny in Philadelphia
The Wire

In order from most-loved to fifth-most-loved:
1. Mystery Science Theater 3000
2. Monty Python's Flying Circus
3. Daria
4. Futurama
5. TIE: Mr. Show with Bob and David/Whitest Kids U' Know

I'm sure that you're all just shocked by the snarky, cynical nature of my favorite programming, given my usual rosy outlook and utter lack of irony. [/sarcasm]
BTW, here are some runners-up: The State, Spaced, Look Around You, The Brak Show, Moral Orel, and Mythbusters.

A Hermit's Cave
Seeing a few commonalities around here... oh well (excluding anime):

Yes Minister/Yes Prime Minister (effectively the same show)
CSI: LV (mainly for character driven plots, rarely for the actual cases)
World at War (narrated by Laurence Olivier, very... vivid)
Firefly (kinda obvious, isn't it?)
Scrubs (well, most of it)

Since I haven't really been watching TV for a few years now, this is going to be a little "old school":

Sliders
The Outer Limits (the 90's version)
Swat Kats (does anyone remember that?)
Alf
Family Guy

OH YEAH!!! Monty Python's Flying Circus!!! Squeeze that in somewhere.

I can't really do a top 5 list, haven't really bothered with TV much since I went to university and lived almost completely without it for a few years.

The only things I really watch now are police things - Police Interceptors, Road Wars, Cops With Cameras, etc - and Top Gear. Then there's the things I watch on DVD, which is mainly American shows that I always miss when they're shown on TV: House (pretty much my favourite show ever), CSI (original and NY, not Miami), NCIS, 30 Rock, Boardwalk Empire, etc.
