Brotherhood and Revelations were just more of the same again with some additions. Having your own assassins was cool and I liked it but I don't think the changes in Revelations were really that interesting - I pretty much never used the bombs aside from the places I had to (because tutorials). The hook thingie I only used when climbing because it's pretty hard not to, but I don't think I used it in combat.
Revelations was a very polite game.

"Oh hey, I don't know if you saw but I have all these new features you can use...if you want to...I'm not really going to make you or anything...."

I'm kind of glad it didn't make you rely on the hook or bombs, but at the same time, it was annoying that they basically made a chunk of the game easy (or easier) mode.

I honestly liked the story in Revelations, though.

Pretty much all of them up until Rogue. I'm gonna play that but I'm waiting until the price drops a little more. It might be worth $30 currently on steam but I hate giving Ubisoft more money then I have to. If they ditch Uplay maybe I'll change my mind.

So far 2 and 4 are my favorites, though I like 3 more then most people do, I suspect(both because it tried to do something different and I liked Connors story, even if Conner occasionally got on my nerves at times). Brotherhood and Revelations both had good bits but ultimately were there to tred water between 2 and 3. Freedom Cry was a cool concept sustained mostly by delving into the history of Haiti and allowing you to brutally murder slavers(which is up there with murdering Nazis in terms of catharsis), but still a DLC.

I generally like the games, which is why I keep playing them. For a while I really cared about the First People storyline, but it seems like ubisoft has no idea what to do with that after the 2012 resolution. It seems like they were trying to set up a new story-line with Juno causing problems in AC3/AC4 and that seems to have gone nowhere fast. Lately, though, I'm just caring less and less. Rogue sounds interesting but that might be the last one I play until ubisoft figures out what they want to do with the series other then it just being a cash cow.

Revelations had some good points. The presentation was quite good and I liked getting closure on both Altairs and Ezios storylines prior to AC3. Also, the Assassin tomb levels were fun, as they always are. Hell, we even got backstory on Desmond and Clay/Subject 16 finally...too bad it happened 4 games into the series, long after most people stopped caring.

I've played 1, 2, Brotherhood, Revelations, 3, Black Flag, Rogue and Unity.
I guess I'm a fan of the series, though Syndicate hasn't really displayed anything to draw me in.

I didn't loathe 3 and Unity like so many, in fact I actually enjoyed them.
(I also didn't play Unity until like a month ago, so I missed all the launch bullshit.)

Played 1, 2, brotherhood, revelations, 3, and 4

I think the Ezio saga is definitely the best.

Hated 3 a lot. Going into a 2 second loading screen (on the 360) to open a menu every time you wanted to switch weapons was awful, and the changes to the engine made the game feel super stiff. You couldn't even swing your sword without being locked on to a specific target and getting into range. Got to the boston tea party and then got fed up with it.

Black Flag didn't feel right either but if you just let go of the idea that it's an Assassin's Creed game it's a decent pirate game, which are in very short supply and virtually nonexistant on the AAA market. That's probably the last one I'll play for a while though.

I've played one, two, Brotherhood, and Revelations. I think that was the last one before three anyways. I kinda wish I had started and stopped at the second one, and aside from four looking okay I'm long done with Ubisoft.

I have played all but the next gen ones. The psp Altair game is ass so I quit it and The vita one I play on and off. I have completed all of the PS3 ones.

My favorite was Rogue since it added some new mechanics, gave the Templar pov, and did a good fusion of AC3 and AC4 mechanics.

about to re-attempt 4, 3 just rubbed me the wrong way it tried to be so different in a setting that way too bland and buggy for it's own good.

I reckon the biggest problem is that the entire atmosphere of the previous games was that you could enjoy the cities at their peak in history and interact with important historical figures, obviously 3 had some of that but their relevancy just sticks to America and I've not been raised on that history nor was I ever fond of it.

AC 3 should have been a Desmond game or been set in Victorian London/France/China/Japan.

The games should have never crossed over into the America's the gameplay and worldbuilding just doesn't gel with it.

I've played the first one, the first DS one, and the first PSP one... None of those copies belonged to me, per se, and I never finished them, anyway...

With that said, I did like the setting of the first game and I still have the urge to play the pirate one on the Wii U, at least... Other than that, I'm not that into the series in general...

I played the first Assassin's Creed around when it came out and was so irritated that it ended on a cliffhanger that I haven't touched another one since. Like come on, what reason is there to have a cliffhanger in a game? A game can be anywhere from 10-100 hours long, if you can't tell a complete story in that amount of time you've failed.

Edit: Speaking of Assassin's Creed, I always thought this video was hilarious:

Yeah, seriously. There's a lot that hints at it. In Assassins Creed 4 a character who works for Abstergo leaves halfway through the game to go on a business trip to Chicago. Then in Watch Dogs there's a side quest in which you take him out (other Abstergo employees exist in the world too) and it says that he's been targeted by the Brotherhood. Aidan talks about how the guy is into some big things like genetic memories. Also in Assassins Creed 4 there's an email from BLUME, the company who made ctOS talking about ctOS and how it would benefit Abstergo.

1, 2, Bro, Rev, 3, BF.

Skipped Unity. Gave up on Black Flag a ways in. Don't plan on touching the series again, unless I'm extremely bored and I see one on sale for under $5.

The best Assassin's Creed game by a massive margin was Shadow of Mordor.

Played the first, second and brotherhood; then couldn't get past the opening bit of Revelations without getting bored. A relative bought me 3 but it remains unopened and I have no intention of opening it. I feel if they stuck to the original trilogy I may have finished 1 - 3 but now I have zero interest in it.

Yeah, that's the kicker. I almost didn't bother with it. Why? Because it was game four of a series that was stalling for time.

I think the European based AC's will always be worth the 5 euro's/pounds/dollars just for the taking a stroll experience.

Let's see. I played the first, second, Brotherhood, Revelations, three, Black Flag, and I'm part way through Unity.

However, I don't know if I'll be playing them that often for much longer. With their yearly release schedule I feel more than a little burned out with the series. In addition Ubisoft made the decision to charge $80 for Syndicate in Canada. There are very few games I would pay $80 for before taxes and Assassin's Creed does not land in that category.

It's almost a pity because Victorian London was a setting I had been hoping for.

I've played and beaten 1, 2, Brotherhood, Revelations, 3, 4, and Rouge. I liked AC2 and Rouge the most so far, and I don't have a PS4 (I'm holding out for price drop and more info on and fixes for system failures) yet, so no Unity or Syndicate.

I believe I played the first three before burning out on the same'y gameplay. The one where you develop a villa in Italy was the last one I really remember. It was very good. Things just got quite boring partway through the third title. I did enjoy 1 and 2, they had a lovely aesthetic and great, if repetitive, gameplay.
