What could Microsoft/developers do to get you interested in Kinect?

I see no way that the Kinect can give a deep story experience... You can't really control your character walking backwards and forwards in a natural way. I'm not into single player games without story, and I'm not that into multiplayer games that would work on it; fighting/puzzle.
The Star Wars game sounds cool. I'd love to work my way through series highlights, force pushing battle droids, dueling Darth Maul... Actually, a cover-based shooter might work. But your knees would get weak really fast.
This game had something similar:
I played it at Vegas and could hardly walk back up to my room after 20 minutes of playing.

Here's what I think would be really cool: A non-action based adventure game. Kind of like an RPG, but with puzzle solving, exploration, and other things taking over instead of combat. Something like what Alan Wake was originally sold as.
The important thing, though, is that it needs effort put into it. It needs a good story. It needs atmoshpere. Strategy. It doesn't just need a few mechanics that work well, it needs to put those mechanics into the same kind of context that AAA games put mechanics built around conventional controls into.

On the contrary. The reason why most developerts are failing now is because they keep thinking inside the box, making tried concept but adding Kinect support as a plus. No one wants to play a FPS with Kinect, yet I bet you several publishers will try.Clinton Walsh said:

That is why most people are interested in Dance Central, because it considered the Kinect from the drawing table. It really is a game that couldn't possibly be made without the technology.

To be honest, there are real possibilities with the system. Here are just a few I thought of:
- Rock Climbing
- RTS simulations, any kind of RPG where you'd have to use group selection and menu options
- Something like Red Dead Redemption... using a lasso, drawing during shootouts, horseback riding, etc.
- Wrestling

They could give it to me for free. Seriously, I can't afford to pay that much on a gimmicky add-on.
If Kinect was used for more than the sole purpose of motion control? For example, imagine you're playing Dragon Age 2, and you're talking with an NPC. I think it'd be immersive if you could use Kinect's voice recognition to actually speak the dialogue on screen when you're choosing how to respond. I know that may get tedious after a while, but Kinect is all about immersion into the game world right? Or am i missing the point of motion controls?
Likewise, say you're playing a squad based shooter. If you could use real army hand gestures to control your team, that'd be pretty neat. It's not something that makes the game solely focused on motion tracking, but it's an implementation that doesn't get in the way of the game itself; you could disable it if you want to go back to buttons / selecting orders / selecting dialogue.
They're just a couple of ideas how to make kinect more interest and relevant to people outside the 'casual or family' demographic.

What they need to do is find a game type that actually needs the Kinect instead of trying to tie existing genres to it with gimmicks.
The only game I'm seeing right now that looks like it is Kinectimals. Playing with a little critter is pretty tough with a controller.
Maybe some kind of Stealth game? Or some kind of puzzle where you take shapes and fit them together? That's another area that's been dicey for controllers, keyboards, and mice: grabbing things and moving them around.
