So my fellow, I was wonder if there is any recent anime that just makes you want to cut yourself out of depression.

This picture right here makes me want to stop breathing. (cookie if you know why...)

Reason I have this thread is I saw a similar thread couple days ago but it asked what made you happy instead so of course we gotta have a yang to our yin :p

Not that I've seen so far. It revolves around a skinny tallish lolicon and the sociapathic girl he meets, and occasionally his neighbor and acquaintance from middle school.

Nope it's the one with the talking furniture and conspiracy theories... but I actually found it to be quite inspiring...<.<

OT: Serial Experiments Lain... it's just so bleak in it's presentation and themes...not to mention the way it handles it's characters and story... it's still the second coming of Jesus though...<.<

No anime can bring me down.

The two most saddest animes: Ginga Nagareboshi: Gin and Gingda Densetsu Weed. But they still don't depress me.

While I agree it is depressing (the manga is worse) thats quite old and my question was if you have any recent anime thats depressing.

I haven't seen the last episode of Azumanga Daioh despite owning the complete box set for a few years now. I just can't bring myself to finish the series knowing it will leave a gaping hole inside me that leaves me depressed for at least a week.

I do this a lot. Fear of ending something, because I know once it's finished; it's gone.

Like the poster above, none at the moment - it takes quite a bit to make me care about the characters, and if you don't care about the characters, it can't really get to you.

I suppose the fact that a couple of animes I'm watching are actually airing and not done yet is irritating, as it means you can't watch more than one. Probably a good thing though, the fanservice in Freezing might kill me...

[sub]Though I should probably add, there was that moment in Claymore...[/sub]
[sub]That got me down for quite a while, even when I rewatched it...[/sub]

I don't really understand how you could think anything else.

It's worse than Highschool of the Dead, and that's bad.

Finish watching it. You'll feel much, much better than if you left it at the show's emotional low point.

True but hell, at least HOTD had good gore and at least some good characters and plot. Heavy emphasis on the bold.
