What Current generation console games would you suggest.

Back in my youth (read: the 80s) I was a console gamer. While my parents PC ran some games I can remember (X-Com, Master of Orion, Sierra adventure games), I mostly played games on consoles. I find though recently (post 2000) I've gotten most of my gaming either on PC or handhelds. Though with talk of the next generation of consoles coming out soon I may get a console when the price drops to a reasonable range. So I ask what games do you think I would like that are exclusive to current gen consoles?

The genres I usually play are,

RPG: Japanese(Dragon Quest, Pokemon) and western styles (Ultima, Elder Scrolls)

Strategy: Turn based (X-Com, Romance of the Three Kingdoms) and Real time (Warcraft, Command and Conquer). And the mixture of these two genres Stratagy RPGs (Shinning Force, Tactics Ogre)

Puzzle: Tetris, Professor Layton

Check out Disgaea 4. It's pretty wacky and fun.

May I suggest Valkyria Chronicles for the PS3? It's a turn based strategy/third person shooter hybrid. Here's a sample of the gameplay.


Basically, you use command points to take control of different units. You can move them as far as their movement bar allows them to go and can take one action. Whether it be attacking, healing, repairing your tank, ect. You can use units more than once as well, but their movement bar decreases for every time you use them in a turn. Once you use up all of your CP, the game switches over to the enemy's turn.

There are also various classes as well. Scouts can move the farthest, Shocktroopers are the best at fighting enemies at close range, Lancers are your anti-tank units, engineers can repair your own tank and carry more powerful healing items, and Snipers are pretty self explanatory.

The game also makes it so you level up your soldier's by class instead of one at a time. Which eliminates the need to grind so in case you lose a soldier you had with you for a while and need to replace him/her.

I was more thinking Console exclusives. I already have Portal 1 and 2, Fallout 3, And PvZ of my computer.

Ah, well could you give some examples of games. I know for example that Disgaea 3/4 and Valkyria Chronicles are PS3 exclusives. But are there any others. Or are there any that are cross platform (the takes series comes to mind, unless that's 360 exclusive.).
