What Defines a Noob

A noob is someone who is familiar with a game but is exceedingly bad at the game to an extreme point, especially someone who gloats about their skills in a game when they are actually bad.
This is often confused with a newbie who is someone who is new to a game. Sometimes Noob is thrown around as a generic insult as well, especially on X-box live.

Anyone who repeatedly does stupid things, either from a lack of knowledge or a lack of skill. Examples: going back to the same camp spot over and over in FPS games, whoring Grenade Launchers or any other stupid weapon.

Im going to have to say someone who cant adapt. I mean, if its you're first time, thats one thing. Because at least from there, you have the ability to learn and pick things up. I suppose by definition, noob just means a new player...

I guess I have two definitions, but they're pretty close. It's either someone new to the game or someone who isn't very good in general. I haven't actually called anyone that for a while though since I don't really care.

A middle school blood elf hunter who spouts memes like they're the most hilarious things ever invented, proclaims even small errors as "EPIC FAIL", then asks for a battle rez, more mage food, and probably a repair bot when they don't move out of the way of the slime during that one fight in Naxxramas because they're too busy scrolling through iTunes for an appropriate Metallica track. The kid whose voice makes you want to stab yourself in the ears with an icepick, mostly because he has no volume control on his vocal cords and because his balls haven't dropped. He's the kid who's been playing for almost a year and still finds ways to cock things up as if he only started playing yesterday. Likely takes Ritalin or something along those lines, has the attention span of a puppy surrounded by beef jerky, completely rude to his fellows...
I had to deal with one of these yesterday, so excuse me if I seem annoyed. There are more types of noobs but these are the most irritating kind.

Newb is a person new to the game. Noob is a person who sucks at the game but is unwilling to get better (and a lot more childish). At least that's what I learned.
