Just wondering what you guys thought about the ending of Desmond's/Connors story. Personally I thought Connors ending could have been better but it was a fine way to end it and Desmond's should have had a bit more pay-off considering we played through 5 games waiting for that final moment.

Connor's story has probably been left like that due to the 5 confirmed DLC's

Desmond's ending sucked, I'm tired of game protagonists just being killed off. Yes we knew this was the end of Desmond's story, but come up with something more original than "just kill em off!"
And the way it happened, the lack of emotion from his fellow assassin's, the sudden reappearance of Minerva and lack of info on what Juno is apparently going to do, was weak.

Also I know we finally got Daniel Cross (Excellent) and Vidic was killed, but where were the rest of the modern Templars?

For a group were been at battle with for the last four games, they were suspiciously absent in this one!

I didn't mind Connor's ending so much. We knew that he was really just a means for Desmond's end. Plus, he didn't really forge any meaningful personal relationships with any other characters during the game so I didn't see him "living happily ever after". I liked how he realized he had just helped replace one evil with a more ambiguous one. It finally added some depth to him as opposed to the one track, boring killing machine he had been throughout the whole game.

As for Desmond's ending, I was unimpressed. Hell even his story was brutal. If he could so easily take out dozens of Templars with the Apple, why didn't he just do it before? And for being such a scary and powerful organization, the Templars could have defended one of their HQs better than with some crappy rent-a-cops with batons and pistols. At this point, I'm just trying to figure out if Ubisoft was being coy with their literal "deus ex machina" ending.

Personally, I felt Connor's ending seemed way too rushed and forced. After spending close to 10 hours following Haytham and young Connor in the longest opening and tutorial section ever it just felt like a cheap coop out that the final two segments were done in less then 45 minutes. Haytham's death was too sudden and unsatisfying (He was basically the Ropebeater with a sword) and the whole chase of Lee felt like it might go somewhere, until it ends with a boring actual chase through Boston harbor and ends with an ME3-style slow limping (that just dragged on and on) and a cutscene that lacked all forms of gravitas.

Really, after spending all that time building up the story and characters, they cram the ending into less then an hour worth of playtime?

Desmond's ending I didn't really mind though. Sure, it felt kind of cliché but at least there was a proper build up to it.

I was very disappointed with Connor's ending. The last two sequences were far too short, and both Haytham and Lee had very anticlimactic deaths.

I did actually enjoy Desmond's ending, though. It nicely wraps up the whole "end of the world" thing, while setting up the conflict for the next protagonist. And hopefully with a new protagonist, we can go back to an earlier point in time again, because firearms are incredibly annoying in Assassin's Creed.

You won't play as an Assassin in thenext one.

You will be a Templar... who eventualky turns into an Assassin by end of arc.
