What direction do you think the eventual Batman reboot should take?

So after Nolan's realistic Batman approach, what do you think the next reboot should be like?

I think it should keep some of the realism qualities of Nolan, but take a slightly more comic-ish approach.

Maybe have Killer Croc or Deadshot.

I know they will, maybe because they're greedy, maybe because they have to too keep the rights, but I'd much prefer they didn't make anymore.

I suppose they could do a musical.

It's been done, and several pornos as well.

OT: Something that includes Mr. Freeze without including Arnold Schwarzenegger.

They should bring Adam West back for one last film.

He can clearly do Nolan's work so what else could he do?
IF they do Batman Beyond, he would be the perfect choice for old Bruce Wayne.

Bring back the detective portion of batman's legacy. Batman has pretty much been reduced to just being a ninja with expensive toys.

As neat as that admittedly still is, it is ignoring his other aspects, those of a genius with an incredible aptitude for SOLVING crimes, not just following the obvious explosions to the bad guy(s) and beating them up.

Sorry but you can't have one without the other, shitty puns included

Ideally I'd like them to keep away from them for at least a decade, but if a studio is adament that a new batman film had to come out in 3 years I have no idea what direction they should take to be honest.

BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD

I know you all laugh, but if done well, we could get a genuinely enjoyable action comedy that helps set up the greater DC movie universe.

Something similar to the Arkham City/Asylum games with the wacky villains but a fairly serious tone. It would be really tough to beat the Nolan films though, and it would be hard to take the reboot seriously, so they should embrace this.

So much this. Thank you for so concisely wrapping up my long rant about why Batman doesn't even wiggle the needle of my Give-a-Fuck-ometer anymore.

A 60's batman reboot.
Preferably with Adam West bought back as batman.

Why doesn't anyone want a silly batman reboot, dumb batman is best batman! :D

Don't bother going over the origin again. Either it would be needlessly repetitive because Begins covered it so well, realism or not, or it would try to change things it doesn't need to just to keep things interesting and end up screwing everything up.

Make it early days but start with him already in the role, and then do Arkham Asylum/City. Really people, you don't have to think about it anymore then that. There is no other right answer. Just, that.

And it would be the greatest movie ever.

Fifteen years ago I would have said Clint Eastwood with a mustache for a TDKR movie. Now I'm not so sure who could play 50-60 year old Batman. I'd still like to see this movie, if only to see Superman get nuked and then the Bats v Supes showdown.

Too bad he didn't have The Bat, huh?

Anyway Man of Steel was written by Nolan and Goyer, and Superman is going to almost definitely be the central part of Justice League so the Batman reboot is going to have to fit their style to some extent. But apart from that, I'd prefer they go a bit nuts with the fantastical elements. Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and The Dark Knight Rises are without a doubt my favourite movies but I'm ready to get back to some good old fashioned Batman beating the shit out of super criminals.
