What do Mana and Hp potions taste like?

I can't speak to health potions, but mana potions are kind of nasty. Like an energy shot, but a little less well blunted by artificial flavors.

Yeah, I tried those for laughs. Very strong tasting in an unpleasant way.

Then again I'm not a fan of energy drinks.

OT: I figure they taste like horrible medicine. Consider what goes into making one. In Two Worlds 2 it's herbs, meat, misc animal parts, undead bits, and/or other stuff.

Unless things like Troll Blood, Pegasus Feathers, Slime Gel, Mind Flayer Brain, Giant's Hair, etc all tasty and delicious, I'm banking on ten kinds of nasty. If you are dealing with Andrzej Sapkowski's potions then they are actually toxic poison too.

They taste like VICTORY!

If they are conjured out of the ether by the wizard who makes them, they are essentially magic in condensed, liquid form. I think that would be like unpleasant throat medicine: numbing, with a bitter taste, a slight burn, and a whiff of something like alcohol fumes. You would pull a nasty face after downing them.

If they must be brewed from leaves and other items, a la Warcraft, they would taste like liquid lawn clippings mixed with dirty sweat.

If we're talking about grotesque, Clive Barker-type magic, they would taste very like the unnameable viscera and bodily excretions from which they were made.

So I guess it tastes like its ingredients. Most things do.

I assume that an HP potion would be a combination of Pepto-Bismol and liquified cherry Jolly Ranchers. As for a mana potion, I'm not really sure. The only thing I can think of is a very thick mixture of liquified grapes (minus the seeds and stems).

I always thought Health Potions would taste a lot like blood, you know; warm, but rough and metallic. Mana Potions? I'm not entirely sure. Probably like an interesting cocktail of energy drinks; sort of like lightening in a weird way.

If I had to guess I'd say they taste like red and blue. They are flavors!

Like with Slurpees! (or Icees or whatever they're called where you're from) They have no real flavour, just Red flavour and Blue flavour.

I always imagine HP potions to be thick and syrupy in texture and taste like a little sweet.

Mana potions on the other hand would be like drinking fog. Tastes like bread crust.

I always assumed they were just the Cherry or Blue Raspberry syrup in an ICEE.

Good to know I'm not the only one who thought this. I always imagined them as the syrup they use for ICEEs/SnoCones/whatever else they're called. Which means they are concentrated delicious.

health potions taste like whatever the drinker assumes to be the most tasty, i mean if we manage to make potions that heal 3rd degree burns on 99% of the skin we might as well make it taste nice.

mana potions taste like coffee.

I always figured like red bull and then some fruit relating to the colour it is. I.e cherry = red, blueberry = blue, lime = green, etc.

... well the only game I can remember which allowed you to drink only portions of your health and mana potions was dungeon siege 2...
Also even when out of combat even the most bad-ass of avatars chug them as quickly as possible, so I'd assume they taste like pure nastiness.

tangent question, how would healing spells feel? they usually have those nice soothing glowy effects, even when you cast them on a healthy person.

Cough medicine for healing sounds about right. For mana... I always imagined it as seeming sorta caffeinated. And tasting, inexplicably, of almonds.

Mana potions taste like lightning. Very sugary, very sour, and very carbonated. As if someone distilled all the worst traits of energy drinks into one package.

Health potions taste like vegetable oil. Syrupy and thick, it kinda slides down like jello.
