My head sponge has been smooshed...

I've been a part of a search for a new place to live now for about two months so my social life has died a horrible, agonizing death. I have no idea what to do in my spare time at the moment except for maybe planking...

For the love of all that is holy what do people with basic cognitive function do in their spare time? Blurgh. I've been so bored lately! any recommendations for a laugh?

Go out and make new friends.

Not having any social life is distinctively abnormal.

Other then that, read, watch films, play sports/ exercise, etc.

Read a book, play a video game, watch a film, listen to music, plan how you would turn the moon into a weapon or spend some time with friends. All of which can be done all at the same time, depending on what type of friends you have.

It is decided!

I was in the same situation after moving back home from Boston. I went to my FLGS and start playing D&D encounters and met a bunch of cool new people. Played some Pathfinder as well.

God, just conform already, geez! Why should you potentially do anything that could better humanity when you can just fit in like the rest of us?
I'm afraid I don't understand how "not conforming" would benefit humanity.

Also the OP never mentioned anything about being on the cusp of a scientific breakthrough he was just looking for advice for what to do with him time.

Just do what I do all day: sitting around in my pants building skyscrapers in Minecraft. It's super effective.

I look at ponies, work on my coilgun and read physics. I haven't got the foggiest what normal people do, though.

The ultimate cure--or perhaps boredom sink?--for any and all boredom is simple:

StumbleUpon.

Go for a walk. Go to the gym. Go for a run. Go swimming. Take up kickboxing. Or Jiu jitsu. Or playing a musical instrument of some sort.

Go to your local community centre and see what they've got going on. Check out their schedule and you'll probably find something that interests you.
