make sure you bring some ketchup and salt and vinegar chips to trade for that sweet sweet American cereal.

Seriously those chips are addicting.

here's a list of other 'canadian' foods you could bring:

According to an informal survey by the Globe and Mail conducted through Facebook from collected comment, users considered the following to be the Canadian National dish, with Maple syrup likely above all the other foods if it was considered:[11]

51% Poutine
14% Montreal-style bagels
11% Salmon jerky
10% Pierogis
7% Ketchup chips
4% Donair
what the heck is salmon jerky and where can I get some?
Okay, wait. I looked some of this stuff up and, aside from the fact that the mere existence of Salmon jerky makes me want to cry, what's the deal with Montreal-style bagels? Not to sound like Jerry Seinfeld, but they look like plain old bagels. Why are they special?

OT: Man, I haven't eaten cereal in about a decade. I've tasted just about all OP listed, but fucked if I can remember anything about them. I just remember the Cap'n Crunch holiday cereal with the frosting. I loved the frosting, but it was actually terrible on the cereal. You were much better off sucking the frosting out of the package and just eating the cereal normally.

Trix is fruity and tangy like Cap'n Crunch, but it doesn't cut your mouth as much.

OT: I haven't eaten any of those cereals in a long while to be honest. So I kinda forgot what they taste like. Although I don't remember the first two being very good. Cookie Crisp was ok.

If I were to recommend a cereal, it would definetely be Reese's Puffs:

That stuff is fucking delicious.

They all suck. You need this cereal.

I would hate to start off the morning with any other cereal. It would really rustle my jimmies.

Oh god I remember seeing this cereal a few times while I was at a grocery store. Never tried it myself. But I think I did try out one of that brand's other cereals. I think it had a koala on it.

I always considered Trix and Fruity Pebbles to taste like they were covered with a strawberry syrup. Very tart, but not really very fruit like. As mentioned you have to eat Fruity Pebbles very quickly, or they turn to somewhat slimey mush. However, the Pebbles cereals are very tender, and delightful until they turn to mush.

Cap'n Crunch tastes almost like it was dipped in honey, or some kind of syrup, but a little bit more tangy. It is a hard cereal, and holds up in milk for longer than necessary. I enjoy Cap'n Crunch from time to time, but not on a regular basis. Reese's Peanut butter Puffs, or Peanut Butter Crunch are very good cereals though.

Cookie Crisp is a very bland cereal, with a hint of the chocolate chip cookie flavor.

I know it sounds like an awfully odd question but I am going down to California soon and I want to eat things that we don't have here in Canada and one of those most important things is Cereal. What does Trix, Fruity Pebbles, and Cookie Crisp all taste like? (I know it's all a matter of opinion but I figure the best one will make me decide on what cereal to get)
First off, let me welcome you to the state. Where in the state are you going, if you don't mind me asking?
You should really pick up some In N Out while you're here. It's a law here that you have to like In N Out if you're a resident (I'm not a huge fan, but it's better than most places).
I actually met a Canadan couple on a cruise once, who absolutely loved Coco Peddles, because they couldn't get them in Canada.

Now to the actual topic. Trix and Fruity peddles are both really sweet and sugary. Don't expect any individual fruit flavors. Imagine mixing all the sodas from a soda fountian, but in cereal form.
I prefer Cookie Crisp (I don't eat a lot of cereal, though). They aren't cookies, but close enough. I normally eat them without milk. I'd decribe it as a chocolate cookies in cracker-esque form.

I love Fruity Pebbles. They are amazing. I haven't had Trix in such a long time that I can't say how they taste to my current preferences. Cookie Crisp is pretty good if you aren't looking to eat mini-cookies.

Puffins Chocolate and Peanut Butter has a Toucan on the box, but has so much less sugar than the Loops and tastes like Reese's Puffs but oh so much better.

Make sure to go to dell taco, California's only answer to Taco bell if you're going for food tourism.
Aren't they a national chain? We have them in Utah at least...we just got In n' Out to. Either way Dell Taco's hamburgers are the best things ever...>.>

Trix and Fruity Pebbles taste pretty much the same, but I prefer Fruity Pebbles for the texture. You gotta eat them fast though or only use a little milk.

Cookie Crisp is just full of win though, I love that stuff.

Damn I miss Trix, we used to have them in Canada, don't know what happened with that or when it actually stopped.

Anyways, if awesome is an acceptable description of flavour, then that's what Trix tastes like.

Trix is good as an average representation of American Cerials. It tastes good and contains a good amount of sugar.

Cookie Crisp is alright, it doesn't taste like cookies but I still enjoy it.

Fruity Pebbles is happiness in a bowl.

But if you want to taste the ultimate in sugary breakfast cerials what you really need is this

In my honest opinion it's not as good as I had imagined but still is pretty damn good

Alright. That should be fun. I haven't spent to much time down there, though. I live in northern California (the better half if you ask me).

Reeses Puff's bro. The cocaine of the cereal world.

I can eat Chex, Cheerios, and all that dry tasting garbage, but its too starchy and doesn't taste any good when its soaked in milk for a long period of time, you just have to scarf it down.

Reese's Puffs? Candy fo breakfast.
