I'm not sure why we need a reboot for Spiderman but the costume looks pretty darn cool and I guess we'll just have to wait and see whether it's a good film or not XD I don't think you can cast judgement on whether it will fail or not just from a costume.

But hey, why listen to me? My favourite Batman film was Batman Forever so I probably just have very strange taste in these matters. XD

I'm more of a fan of the original suit.
As for the new suit, I don't mind most of it, and what I do mind is insanely petty and a minor detail at best but; the blue fingers on the suit's hands just look off to me.

I prefer the solid red colored hands of the classic duds.

God, that sounds really really nitpicky, and I hate the nerd ragey part of me that thinks it looks wrong, but there it is.

Also, given the texture of the suit, I hope Parker's got a lotta lotion 'cause it looks fairly uncomfortable and chafe...ey.

Nice textures there. It looks all the same to me though. I've never been into superhero cartoons but once at a friend's place I skimmed through some of his cartoons and Spider-Man was wearing black/yellow and all kinds of costumes I never knew about. Before I always thought things like that never change, but I suppose running a continuous cartoon story for 5000 years does do that.

Just noticed they're doing web-cartridges. I much prefered how it was done in Raimi's films, seems more believable to me.
Given the increase in super-hero based films, I don't think they are as concerned with grounding the character as much as they were before(the thought was that people wouldn't have been able to suspend their disbelief that Peter Parker had genius intelligence among everything else) and are free to stick more closely to the source material.

I'm diggin' it. Not that there's a whole lot not to dig, it's not like it recieved a major overhaul or something, just a few details here and there, and the devil is pretty absent from them.

This Spider-Man looks as serious as a heart attack. It's interesting to see where Sony's going with this. Can they pull it off?

I doesn't really look any different to me, except for perhaps having more blue around the hands. I'm not one to fuss about details so finicky as that so it looks fine to me.

So its between:
and

They both really need to sort their trousers out if you ask me. I like the new costumes top but its pattern forms a downward arrow to the eye pointing it to the crotch area.

I like it, but I think we should all start making a real point of judging these movies by their plot and actors, instead of getting bogged down in tiny details; ohh, I don't like the textures on his suit, ohh, the transformers designs are too busy, ohh, there's a black actor playing a white mans role.
They don't really matter if the movie absolutely sucks. Heck, I don't care if you made spiderman wear a pink suit with yellow polka-dots, just give us a good, well scripted and acted movie.

Ohh, and mechanical web-shooters: yyaaaaayyyyyyy!

I said I'd only pass judgement on the costume once I'd seen it complete with the mask.
I have now.
AND. IT'S. AWESOME.

Cool to see they're using the mechanical web shooter concept for the reboot. Should make for one or two nice (if predictable) 'Oh shit' moments.
