I never let difficulty in games make me quit. If I face a particularly difficult sequence, I make it a point to persist through until at least the next checkpoint. Power through. Persist. I refuse to let the game beat me or force me to quit. I'll quit on my terms when I'M DONE WITH YOU DAMN IT

*cough*

yeah. I try not to quit unless I'm between levels.

Good news everyone!
Is it strange that I read that sentence in the Futurama professor's voice?

OT: I usually take a few hours/ a day to keep myself from getting overly frustrated, then give it another go.
Nope. did exactly the same.

same on both counts in fact. i also turn the game off take a day or two and come back ready to roll. it usually works a treat, whether its dark souls or the last few challenges on tiny wings.

Keep playing. It's how I play Super Meat Boy and will continue to do so (granted, that's how it's supposed to be played). But yeah, I keep trying until I get tired of it. In which case I will set it down and try again later.

Depends on the type of game.

If it's a FPS/TPS, I'll save scum my way to victory. Nothing makes me happier to be a PC gamer than quick save.

If it's an RPG, I'll go grind out a few levels if possible, until I can roflstomp the enemy to pieces. If it's not possible, I'll usually end up pissed, put the game away for a while, come back, devise a strategy to get past whatever's being a *****, then beat the level in a few tries.

If it's a fighting game, I'll just stop playing. Fighting games tend to get my blood up faster than other games, so I tend to call it quits rather early with them.

In TBS/RTS/SRPGs I'll try different strategies which never end up work, then I lower the difficulty.

Well many of the games I play are open-based RPGs, so I tend to just head somewhere else and return when I'm strong enough to conquer all and send all foes tumbling into the deep black depths of the afterlife.

Never surrender, never look back! That's mine and Simon's fighting spirit!

^This. I just keep playing till I beat it. I find when I stop a game due to frustration, I'm less likely to come back to it.

Switch it off and put it aside until a day when I have nothing planned. Then I spend all day at that tough sum'*****. Hasn't happened in years though due to the genres I most often partake in.
>Difficulty in genres

And games are all around easy as can be now... That helps. The last difficult part I had was in God Hand

Put on the heaviest most epic music I have.. usually power metal or some sort of trailer music score (like Two Steps From Hell), grit my teeth and power through until I win.. can't pussy out and quit or read a walkthrough, gotta man up and face it head on!

I try to work through the problems moment by moment, tweaking my tactics and try to find any patterns of behavior, etc. In the end I try to make the game in levels or checkpoints, inching my way forward.

So, very slowly but it gets it done in my books.

I try again a few times. Then I adjust my tactics and try again a few more times. Then I consult a walkthrough and try again. If that doesn't work I turn it off and try again the next day. If I still can't beat it, I turn it off, tell myself that I'll get around to it eventually but I never do.

And all to answer...how should I put it - a person with two digit number of posts yet who is on their last warning before a permaban. They have some...interesting posts in their history, too.
