I don't drive these days. I had to sell my car to move overseas a few years ago (it would have cost more to ship over than the car was worth, for one thing), and I now live in London, where there's enough public transportation to get me pretty much anywhere I'm going.
Back in the day, though, I drove a Saturn SL1. I still miss that car, especially when I'm coming back from Sainsbury's or something with a load of groceries on the bus.

Four wheels = a 2010 Dodge Challenger SRT8. I might get a 2012 depending on what Dodge does to them and how much they cost. I have nothing but love for my car and can't imagine driving anything else.
Two wheels = A 2009 Suzuki Boulevard C50. Bit a of cheap cruiser but it looks great and I wasn't about to drop 10+ grand on a Harley since it's my first bike.

Just got rid of my truck last month - was a 2005 Dodge Ram Quad Cab. Got a brand new 2010 Toyota Corolla S. Fun little car. This I think is the 15th vehicle I have owned.
Looking at getting an old 1978 Bronco this weekend to have a truck around. But the new car is my daily driver to and from work.
Wife owns a 2003 Toyota Corolla that only has like 30k miles on it.

1996 Pontiac Bonneville SE. Not the prettiest car in the world, but she gets me from point A to point B without burning too much gas.
Mostly because you can literally get out and walk as fast as the thing can drive up a hill. Still need it since walking through snow carrying 600lbs of equipment and fuel is a little difficult.Neonbob said:
It's a beast. Slow and nearly unstoppable, with a capacity of 1000lbs. I did manage to get stuck once, slid off a hill and even dumping everything out of it I couldn't get it back up to the road. I really want a winch for that thing.
It's a bit better since I got an enclosed cab for it.

It has been serving in the place of a Company F-350 duely for the better part of a year and people havent seemed to really notice a difference in performance.
If i were to buy a new car today i would probably go with a Suzuki SX-4 hatchback with all the fancy features, but i have no idea what i would buy if i could have anything. Probably a 2006 M3, but i would keep the civic for mundane things.

First car was a 2004 Toyota Yaris. Current car is a 2008 Seat Leon.
On a lease contract, which I'm probably going to pay off at the end so I own the car. Even if it takes a hefty chunk out of my savings it'll be worth not having the outgoings every month.

I can see hating the '97 Intrepid. From my understanding, once they start breaking down, they KEEP breaking down until you replace virtually everything. My '95 came with the best engine for that particular line (Fastest I've taken that car is 117. It was still climbing, but I had to slow it down when I saw a Stater was a mile ahead of me). All '95 Intrepids have one fatal flaw: The transmission WILL DIE. I had to replace mine the third year I owned it; but up until that time, I never repaired or replaced ANYTHING on it, so I didn't really care. Up to date, the car has cost me (roughly) six thousand in repair bills, but I've owned it for nearly six years now, I drive it nearly every day up to nine times a day, and in turn I take very good care of it because I KNOW its an older car.stl520nlv said:

I'm currently nearing the end of my driving lessons, but with only a budget of £1,000 I think i'll end up with a Peugeot 106 or an old 1.L Polo. As long as it gets me to Uni and back over the next 4 years I am not too bothered what kind of car it is.

I drive a 1987 ex-RAF Land Rover 90. Pretty much original - even has its original RAF decals - I've just put more comfortable seats in, installed a lighter socket (for the gearbox tunnel-mounted charger for my 5.11 Tactical LightForLife 3.400 capacitor torch) and a work light in one of the read windows (the mil-spec Landies don't have reversing lights). Oh, and I had civilian road tyres put on it - the military tyres are so noisy to drive on the roads, and wear out too fast. Besides, even the "ordinary" tyres I have get me up the iced-over one-in-three driveway in the middle of winter. Thinking of getting an upgraded heater, as fitted to the Royal Marines' winterised Landies... it gets a bit chilly in winter.
Anyway, I'm keeping that one as long as I can - Sarge (as my wife named it) is a lovely car, and a whole lot more fun than a second-hand Fiesta.
When I can afford it, I want to get a Golf GTi and a Corvette - I've loved 'Vettes since I saw the black 1963 one in Street Rod, way back in the early nineties. I don't even care if it's a good car, I just love those things.
