Your all pissed about the inside of it, im worried of the OUTSIDE.

Bodies becoming unfit, not spending much time with loved ones before that times runs out is what i worry about.
thats got nothing to do with gaming...thats got everything to do with YOU

in other words what you mentioned can be caused by ANYTHING, the only reason gamin itself gets a bad rep is because of societys veiws

How the industry seems to hate the customers. Project $10 does not bode well for any theoretical opinions they hold of us. They aren't above us, they rely on us to stay alive, not the other way around.
I also hate how we don't seem to care about this, how we just sit here and take it while these companies install draconian DRM coding and try their hardest to make sure we don't break their contracts.

The diseperance of players choice games, why is it last gen I could get a whole slew of great games for $20 while this gen players choice games (what few their are) cost $30 and have a poor selection. Nintendo espicially as they had a lot of great players choice games for the Gamecube while for the Wii their are only 4 so far.

I think the last time I saw a thread like this, I said "Unpleasable Fanbase" or "The Fans". This answer is still viable.
This guys also speaks my mind. It always ends up with people pissed off when the developers tried to do what the fanbase wanted.

Most of my favorite games I used to play as a kid don't work on windows 7...

I don't understand this...I assumed technology was getting more advanced.

Same with trying to play PS2 games on my PS3 and such, doesn't work...Why?

This divide between PC and console gamers. FOOLS! Don?t turn this into an ?us vs. them?
issue!

PC gamers are just as guilty as console gamers of this, I feel.
Speaking as someone who made the switch from obsessive console-gamer to obsessive pc-gamer, I agree completely.

I love both systems, why does liking one make you inferior, while liking the other makes you superior?

Also, I hate that the new term for "dumbing down" is "consolize". Seriously people, consoles aren't causing this. It's the people in the community that complain that games are too long and complex. It's the developers who listen to these people because they are greedy bastards. Place the blame where it truly lies.
* applauses* This is way i feel about this whole PC>Console arguement here how is see of all the things that define people in the word the choice of gaming platform matters least

I'm sick of dark games.

Give me some goddamn color up in this *****!

Skyrim is doing it, why can't you!?
well it's the overuse of brown and gray that gets me while where on the subject it seems asthough the typical game designer feels asthough there are only 2 colors in the word i would go as far to say that there may be outbreak of color blindness in the game industry.

I completely agree with you.

I tried playing KOTOR on my 360 and it kept bugging on me with all kinds of problems. I thought the 360 was more advance then the first xbox so why is a Xbox game running so poorly on a Xbox 360 game

Anything Brown. Applies both to dirt and generic middle-eastern terrorist that is the most over used enemy in most modern FPSs.

One of my games, X-Wing alliance will not install in windows 7...But it will play if you install it on another OS, then transfer it, then download a special registry file.

Too much work, and I don't have another computer just lying around.

And when I wanna play something from my PS2 library on the PS3...I can't...The first models of PS3 did have backwards compatibility...So...Why the hell was it removed?

I'm just wondering why we can't just advance technology without removing the support for older technology?

I hate how everyone tries to make the COD-killer, and fails. Homefront. Brink. Call of Juarez. Bulletstorm. STOP IT. WE HAVE ENOUGH.
No COD needs to die.
And Brink and Bulletstorm were both fun.

developers "streamlining games" i.e ruining what made them good.
This too, but that kinda goes along with the other thing.
Also the sacrifice of Single Player for online Multiplayer. I HATE online Multiplayer!

The dumbing down of games which is removing interesting and fun mechanics from RPG's and basically destroying the strategy genre. Hell, you could just say the symptom of that is everything is basically becoming a FPS (or wait for it... an over the shoulder camera game that plays just like a FPS).

I get the shits with games that demand online access to play. And anything that *demands* I download a 6GB patch just to play a game I just fucking bought.

DOW2 was a prime example. For some reason it made me download a goddamn 4 GB multiplayer patch for the original game, then 4 GB for the Chaos expansion, then (earlier this year) 4 GB for the Inquisitor expansion. I've had the game for a year now and I have NOT ONCE played online. Games need to come with the option at install of ticking a box to say 'No, I do not wish to play this online. Please exclude me from the compulsory 12 GB multiplayer patch that I must download before I can even watch the fucking INTRO MOVIE.'

Same goes for anything activated by Steam. It feels like a breach of contract - it'd be like going to the cinema, buying your ticket, and sitting down. After a few seconds of blank silence, you realise the movie hasn't started yet. You go to the counter, and they explain that in order to enjoy the movie you have to come back next week.

In fact, this pisses me off so much I will download cracked NOCD / No Steam copies of games I already own out of spite.

Gamers.

And the state of the industry, I'm sure I needn't go into the details there.
(Essentially all the things others are saying in this thread)
It is still very much possible to find that rare gem that restores hope, however.

You're welcome.

Though there's a moderate chance one of the codes it generates will be taken by someone else and you won't be able to access battlenet, only single player mode.
^Take that down, brush up on the rules
