What do you Own That's Turned Heads?

My taste in cars as changed as I passed 30, 5-10 years ago I might have got body kits and slammed it but I just dont feel that way now. Mind you 10 years ago I would never have been able to afford a brand new car, a beat up Ford Fiesta was my ride then with a silly exhaust that made it louder.

I'd say your taste has gotten a bit better. I've seen cars that are slammed and have these gross-looking body kits and mentally I throw up when I see them. There's racing suspension, and then there's retardation, and the main difference is whether you've ruined your exhaust by simply driving (which many people do around here, where the roads have more potholes than a junkie's basement). I had a similar situation to your Fiesta with my old Saturn: it had a busted muffler and when the engine turned it sounded like the car was farting. It was so sad it was hilarious. I'm quite glad that I no longer have that car, because it was simply terrible, in every sense of the word.

Most of my larger models and other projects have turned a few heads. I've even painted a few garden gnomes with my citadel paints for my grandmother, which guests tend to notice (some people think they're unnerving).

My wall is filled with video game posters, but it is always the massive Ah! My Goddess poster people notices...

Apart from that it's the bigass dragon I have besides my monitor people really notices.

The thing is with your old Saturn is they do make you appreciate it when you get something better.

Well, I don't still have it, but I bought a penis shaped lollipop on a school band trip when we stopped at a mall. This was in my freshman year of high school, so I wasn't on familiar terms with most of the older band students, and hadn't even spoken to many of them. My thoughts exactly. I really hate feeling every bump in the road, and it's not particularly good for the structural integrity of the vehicle either: speakers in that Saturn actually intermittently disconnected from their wiring by sheer vibration alone. Not to mention when people put it so low that they actually have to do some cutting into the wheelwells just to lower it further. I saw a Chevy S-10 for sale by my neighbor's place and it had a bed that had no floor whatsoever, completely negating its use as a pickup truck. Why? because he wanted to lower it further. At that point, I really have to ask, what IS the point?

And about the Saturn: you're definitely right about that: everything I drove or rode in since felt like a Rolls Royce after I had spent 2 years driving that thing to work and back. It was that bad. Now, my little Blazer, even with the issues it has, feels like a Cadillac in comparison. Don't ever get a Saturn SW. Ever.

well, let's see, I've got a MASSIVE Bionicle collection, a lego Death Star, Mario, Minecraft, Portal, and Half-life t-shirts (probably not that much of a head-turner, but whatever), a wall mirror with an image of Pinkie Pie engraved into it, and that's just the stuff in my bedroom. Needless to say, I've gotten plenty of attention for these things, both positive and negative (trying to explain the mirror to my grandparents sure was awkward).

Some cars it works like a low rider which is about cruising instead and being low is a fashion statement rather than trying to make the car look like sporty. I have seen some ridiculous and pathetic attempts of slamming when I was younger and hanging around with impoverished boy racers (I was one too), people doing things like simply taking out the springs and cutting it down. Other stupid things like letting fluid out of Hydrolastic pods in old Austin Metros. Probably my N7 hoodie. Except I was only able to get the Xtra Large version and now I can stretch it over my legs while sitting down. (Seriously, the thing's fucking huge.) Still, I love it. It's super warm.

My homemade Pyramid Head costume I made for Halloween last year. It's easily convention quality, but where I live there simply aren't any cons within 1000 miles for me to wear it to. I have the head in my open closet, on top of my huge stack of boxes holding 15 years of Marvel comics. My great knife is leaned up against the wall behind my TV. I turned quite a few heads wearing it around the river landing where I live. I also got a few applauses, and some people stopping me for photos.

I have this monster-looking hat thing that I got back when Gaia Online was still a thing in my life.Thankfully, I grew out of that phase, but it's still a fun hat to wear. I also have my super thick ski mask, but that usually elicits "OMG I need one of those" rather than weird looks. Then there's my crocheted Espeon and Umbreon plushies, I'm really proud of how those turned out, some of the shaping was interesting...
And hopefully soon I'll be getting another thing for people to stare at, since I won a Luigi wallet from a contest.

So last Friday I returned to Jacksonville, Fla to play at Battalion Airsoft Arena for the second time, which was just as good as the first time. Now the first time I was there didn't really have anyone particularly impressed by what I had brought, this time was a little different however. Namely the guys I was with and the owner himself had never seen a WE G39C gas-blowback rifle before, so they were quite fascinated with it, especially the owner. And there's the question, what do you own that has got the attention of people?
