You guys are all too driven and volatile. Games are for UNstressing, not ultra-stressing.

Re-laaaaaaaaaaaaaax.

Beyond that, though, you guys are great. Most know how to take a good joke, too. Most.

It is a wonderful site filled with wonderful people! Even with all the arguing, it just makes the site more interesting!

I mostly post in User Groups and the Forum Games but I often come to the forums to see the latest topics and contribute! This place is also where I get all my gaming (and odd) news.

I think I have friends here than I have in town!
Tizzy, go home you're drunk.
Can't be drunk, on holiday in Florida and the legal drinking age is 21 (woe is me, 19 year old Irish with no alcohol)
Now you know how the law abiding teens in the US feel! I laugh in your general direction.
Hey don't laugh! It sucks that my parents can drink while I am there drinking Dr Pepper without vodka (although refills are free in TGI Fridays so that is something)
How long will you be suffering through our wonderful drinking laws?
A good 3 and a half weeks (although 5 days have passed already) You people and your drinking laws, I am Irish and I am disappoint!
You'd think a people descended mostly from British, German and Irish people would be more liberal with their drinking laws.

Almost as ugly as you. :D
Then why's my fat mother the President of said fanclub? :3

And just because I don't have eyes, doesn't mean I can't see! Sixth sense much?
How can you have a sith sense if one of your 5 is missing?
You charlatan! You only have 5 senses!

I like it but it might be because of the moderation rules. No body really wastes anyone's time here and I like perusing threads to read up on other people's opinions. The community is overall pretty thoughtful. Though it's a little too negative for my tastes when I think the future of the gaming industry is looking interesting

It is a definite pro-PC crowd here, feels a little like being second class gamer if you're a console gamer here.
Even if you are a pc gamer, god forbid you bought a prebuilt pc or *gasp* an alienware. It completely throws you credibility out the window. And they make jokes about the pointlessness of console debates

Love it. People of all sorts with different opinions all make pretty good discussion when it's needed. Sure there is anger but sometimes it's for good and most other times it's just others learning when/how to use it. I reckon it's great for anyone to see all the different opinions. You just have to learn to know who to ignore.

mmmm...

It's nice to keep up on the news w/ gaming. but sometimes people here tend to make mountains out of molehills (have to type in a registration code? THE INJUSTICE!), and gets very repetitive, but meh if I can put up w/ EA's "bullshit" enough to buy most of their games, I can put up w/ the shenanigans from this site.

Although sometimes things can get a bit overwhelming with hot topics, I always return and stick around for a while longer, there's always that familiar feel here. Indeed, I like it just fine here.

Although I don't personally know anybody around here, I know enough of most to tell if it's a nice person, of course there are a couple I dislike (and probably dislike me).

EDIT: I see most view it's a PC biased site. Well, yes and no. Although I'm a PC gamer myself, I'm not an elitist prick (like some people that actually quoted me for their long rant about "how I can play a thousand mods in Stalker"), in fact, if I could, I'd be a console gamer and have a ton of games, but due to financial restrictions and my country's love to overprice console games, I'm kinda forced to be a PC gamer, but still, I certainly love my platform of choice, but not for the reasons you may think might be and I'm certainly not rubbing in anyone's face why "it's better".

It's gotten so BIG!

Seriously, it was near impossible to keep up with new faces when I joined. Now it is unthinkable.

I don't know a lot of you guys. I hope you're all decent people but I expect the occasional a-hole.

As a Mod, I get to see the worst of the site some times, and yet I still love this place. It's a safe haven for me on the internet, and I'm willing to protect it, even if that makes people think I'm "over-zealous".

Everyone I'm friends with right now came from this site, My life would be entirely different if I hadn't found these wonderful people.

So yes, I'm willing to go through the trolls and insults of the Mod Queue, because I always find a few funny and delightful things hidden between those.

It's kinda awful, but at least I know where to go if I want the most liberal side of an issue

Any issue

As long as it's the issue we're into this month

EDIT: There is (or at least appears to be) a massive proportion of the community here who is thin-skinned and white-knighty and absurdly proud of it. I had to add this when I looked on this thread and saw how many people were praising the lack of "trolls who just want to start shit"

Part of growing up is knowing when people are messing with you and making you look foolish, right? Maybe it's just my hardcore, EVE Online, KaoS Legion, PC Gaming side talking, but trolls are what make a community real. Real interactions between real people, not happy and fluffy all day.
I learn that every day from assholes I meet at work (I'm a part-time bartender). I don't need it from a friendly place I go to in order to discuss video-games. 'Real interaction' isn't necessarily assholish. Nothing about interaction is necessarily anything. It is what you make out of it.
I study Philosophy at the University. Go there and act like an asshole while discussing a serious issue and the professor is going to kick your ass out the door. Mature people carry mature conversations without being dicks about it.

I once saw a guy advocate sending all religious people to camps where they would be killed or sterilized. No one called him out on it. Left a bad taste in my mouth.
That sounds like blatant trolling to me, I assume people would have purposely ignored him because arguing with people like that is like shouting at a brick wall, so nobody took the bait.
I've seen ignorant posts, mainly in the R&P section like 'adoptions should be mandatory' or some crap. It's a bit of a grey area because while it sounds like hate speech to us, they'll say it's just their opinion or idea. Ignoring them is sometimes the best course, they want us to argue with them. Some are very sneaky in how they word things. Even sometimes posts like that slip through the cracks and don't get moderated.

You're all just a bunch of geeks constantly jabbering about geeky things.

And I love ya for it!

Sure this place can sometimes get flooded by over-exposure threads, but it still remains nice and clean overall.

Some fairly interesting people stand out amongst the crowd. There's a significant minority of elitists and over-sensitive types here, and the mods absolutely disgust me with their warnings for absolutely any 'infringement' they seem fit, which tend me to not post hardly as much as I used to. Don't take it personally, mods, but lighten up a bit, yeah?

That being said you get better discussions (albeit repeated constantly for months on end) here than other places on the net.

Nobody is allowed to post pictures of a woman shitting in her own mouth so that's a pretty good plus side right there. Unfortunately though I do think the community could do with being funnier and better at jokes/banter generally.

What we need is to implement a process where we identify a team of hilarity experts to act as mentors to new members with regular assesment against pre agreed performance measures. We would have a quarterly assesment where the community identifies humour shortcomings in order to allocate community resources to improve comic outcomes and take full advantage of skill synergies between members.

Or more nob gags. That'd probably work too.

My favourite community, everyone is allowed to have their own opinions and not get shouted at. There have been times when a troll would show but thankfully the mods here are good at what they do and will take care of it quickly. We are all a big family where we all love each other.

Except that Daystar Clarion guy, nobody likes him.
This exactly...Hey, wanna join my new No Daystar's group?

I've been a part of this community since...holy crap, in August I'll have been a member for four years!! Suffice it to say I love the community here and wouldn't have stuck around otherwise. My only problem is that you bastards have made me realize that I'm probably part of the Nintendo Defense Force...I was a sleeper agent! How is that MY fault!?!

nah; I love you guys...remember when Extra Credits left and shit got crazy for a week? That was some crazy stuff...Glad we got Jim instead.

Literally can't see myself having meaningful interaction with any other forum, to be honest.

Honestly don't get the drama when gender...exists in any way on this forum. Beyond that, I like how most topics are handled. It feels like two sides can coexist on most issues.
