My name is Thor. I am named after my uncle who was named after his uncle who was named after his uncle (who was, my great grandfather) who was named after an Old norse god that no one in Egersund believed in anymore at the time he was named. So technically I'm Thor IV. but we all have different middle names.

It's pretty cool but every person I meet comments on it. At best it's "Thor? really? cool?" At worst it's "OMG THOR!? Do you like norse myths? I love norse myths! Omg that is soo cool! You're really tall too so it fits!" and so on and so forth. When I was a kid lots of people would say things like "Thor goes to the stupid store!" because when you're 6 an insult has to rhyme. When I became the tallest kid in the class though (about 3rd grade and forever since) that stopped.

No one pronounces my last name right on the first try so I'm not even going there.

Edit: My nephew aged 4 is named after me! Go Thor V!

I'm kind of indifferent to my name. I'm used to it and I suppose it suits me, but it's incredibly popular in the States and can be spelled multiple ways, so people always spell my name wrong. It means "princess" in Hebrew, which was excitement-worthy when I was five, but seems sort of irrelevant now. And my full name is one of the most average sounding combinations possible.

Mine's Peregrine, shortenned to Peri, It's quite individual and its a f***ing awesome bird so yeah, I like my name.
Are you a Took?
No, but I am frequently mistaken for one. Even I used to think I was a hobbit. (I have large, tough feet and curly-ish hair) but now I'm 6ft 3 so I guess I'm not a hobbit.

Mines is Raymond

meaning stone or protector

But I dont really like it

i would have prefered a better name that could be shortened down, the only time anyone ever says Ray its shortly followed by another Ray, RayRay

IT SOUNDS LIKE A 5 YEAR OLDS NAME

but on the cooler name side my sister just had a baby and im getting called uncle Lee-Roy

My name is Richard, but I usually go by Rich. It's not bad, although it can be annoying to have a name that's a fairly common word, since it makes me look up whenever somebody uses it in regular conversation.

I like my name. It's just me.

My first name means, "bearer of Christ," my middle name means, "one like God," and my last name is Yugoslavian (I think I spelled that right...) for "wolf" or "son of wolf."

I should have a wolf as my avatar... Wish I had a picture to use. I have a BMP image of a wolf, but I can't use those. Sigh.

My name is Adrian. Very common around these parts, yet I sound like an accountant. I wish I had a more Slavic sounding name, but this one's ok.

Glen, only met one person with the same name (no Glenn does not count)
which explains your escapist name: no-one else can have it!

OT: Peter. I really don't like it. Coupled with my last name (not giving that out) I can never have a decent nickname (no variation on Peter fits me AT ALL...)
