The title says it all. I think that they should just give us the option to play keyboard and mouse style. Think about it, better controls for FPSs, RTSs and Certain RPGs and customizable controls. So what do you think should be done to make console controls a little better, controlers from past and competing consloes, a keyboard and mouse option, the company that owns the console to simply make some new orginal controllers or do you think console controls are fine the way they are? To vote post now.

I like them just the way they are.

They might not be as precise as a mouse, but they feel good.

The controllers seem fine to me. I quite like the Dual Shock 3, and the X360 controller works well too. I don't like the Wiimote, but that's because I don't like motion controls rather than the controller being unwieldly.

Console controls rock and buying an expensive ass gaming mouse and gaming keyboard is more expensive then a top of the line at most 60 dollar controller.

Mouse and keyboard fanboy here.

And nothing, console controls are meant to be relaxing to use, something that allows you to sit down, put your feet up and gaze at a screen sidewards. A mouse and keyboard can't do this, which is why controllers still have a use.

Ok, fine, There are other uses, but that's what I use controllers for :p

I'm not big on the Wii remote, though one attribute I do like is the wii remote and nun chuck attachment being separated by a wire, so that you can stretch your arms out a little more comfortably.

Actually, I think that the console controls for RPGs have been pretty good as of late. Besides, it's not as if RPGs require the precision controls that an FPS does.

However, when it comes to RTS games, the console controls are a gamer's worst nightmare. Playing an RTS without a mouse and keyboard is like riding a bike without wheels. It simply doesn't work, and it makes you look ridiculous.

Give more games mouse support.

That's it. The gamepad is good assuming the game isn't an RTS. Maybe not the best, but still decent.

Better for a number of games as well.

Generally though? M+K>gamepad. Especially if you bought a Logitech G18 [http://www.pcgameshardware.com/screenshots/418x627/2008/12/logitech-g18.jpg] which gives you a left analogue stick as well.

the only two game types i can think of where mouse and keyboard are more useful are fps and rts, in which i still prefer to use controller for fps because its so much more comfortable, and the 360 controller fits air tight perfectly into my hands so i dont really see what the problem is? maybe add two more buttons for the ring fingers perhaps, otherwise i say its perfect the way it is

and adding keyboard mouse for gameplay to console is just stupid, just play the pc if you are that big of a fanboy for it

I think my hands have held console controllers so long that they are completely ruined for any other activity. I remember wanting to learn how to play guitar, but nooooooooooo, my stupid hands were confused as hell.

Hands: "What?! No buttons! strings? what the hell is this!

Customisable controls, IE you can change what each button functions to do, i hate switching between Halo3/Left 4 dead/Call of Duty/Killzone 2 controls. you go to crouch in one game and you throw a grenade in another, go to reload and throw a grenade, i hate that 15 minutes of relearning controls.

What's wrong with controllers? I much prefer them to any alternative I've used.
With the exception of RTS, developers should just make sure their games can support a mouse if players want to use it. I was really disappointed that Red Alert 3 didn't support a mouse and key board set up.

You know, I don't see any problem with console controls, I mean I don't own a console, but I can see why people would like them.

Yeah I'm in agreement here. I can see why people would enjoy using the PC but honestly I don't really feel 'crippled' by lack of mouse control when I pick up Bioshock or whatever and give it a whirl.

I would rather have a controller than a key board and mouse any day.

It just seems much more intuitive to play games with something that was actually meant to play games.
