What Do You Think Was The Best Weapon in Shooter History?

Weapons are the bread and butter of shooters. Every great shooter has great weapons, so, what are some of your favorite weapons from shooters?(Including Side-Scrolling and TPSs)

Some of my personal favorites are the Energy Sword, the BFG 9000, The Lancer, and The Rail Gun.

I've yet to see a weapon that lets your opponent see you taunting them BEFORE being killed. It's like teabagging someone who hasn't died yet.

JFK Reloaded had the best gun ever mostly because you could recreate shooting JFK with a shitty Italian bolt-action. Now they just need to make Lincoln Must Die and the greatness of video games would be reached.

The Energy Sword, especially in Halo 3 as that sword can actually be used to spar with people.

Also the Portal gun of course.

But most of all....... the Plasmid.

Personally, I'm going to be terribly unoriginal and say the Lancer. I mean come on... it's the best mix since John and Paul...

God dammit, I was gonna say 'inb4 shurikens and lightning.' That gun is REALLY overrated.

I'd say...Gravity gun, or maybe that flak cannon from Unreal Tournament.

EDIT: And also a crowbar. Not as effective as many weapons, but it's sure as hell fun to use.
