What do you think were the best years in gaming?

As the title says, what years do you think were the best years in gaming? Not as an overall view, but for you personally. For me it'd be 2006 and 2010.

2006 had

Drill Dozer (in my top 5 favourite games ever)
Tetris DS (The best version of Tetris ever)
Pokemon Ranger (My favourite Pokemon game despite playing the series since the original Red Version)
Super Princess Peach
Elite Beat Agents (One of the only music games I actually like)
Touch Detective
Magical Star Sign
Dragon Quest Heroes Rocket Slime
New Super Mario Bros

2010 had

Ys Seven
Disgaea Infinite
Super Mario Galaxy 2
Kirby's Epic Yarn
Donkey Kong Country Returns
Sonic Colours (wii) (A great Sonic game that brought back the over the top goofiness of "Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, which is a huge benefit to the Sonic series)
Ace Attorney Investigations Miles Edgeworth (The game that got me into Ace Attorney)
9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors
Pokemon Ranger Guardian Signs (The game that made up for the awful 2nd game)
Ivy the Kiwi (Wii)

I don't like the super nintendo/sega genesis years (Despite them having BIG steps towards modern gaming). Those are not the "golden years".

I wanna say when N64 came out...but that just kinda set some standards for games I guess. I'm gunna have to agree with Terminate, 2007-2008 I think I bought more games then than any other year.

Probably whatever year the ps2 was at the pinnacle of its success. Mainly because that was when it became my full time hobby. I could list some games, but i dont think i could choose between them all. Good times.
