Yep I do the wax thing too. And when drinking drinks, I actually support the cup/mug/glass with my pinky underneath the vessel, which I find rather strange.SnootyEnglishman said:

I use my left pinky to press some of the keys on the left hand side of my keyboard, I guess. Especially shift and control. And I use my right one to press the return key. And stabilising stuff in general. I don't know, don't really think about it. It took me two minutes to figure out whether or not I even used my pinky fingers to type. Turns out I do.
Left one - mostly for the left Shift and left control.
The right one is for Enter (or return or whatever).
Both - for suporting heavier or unwieldy beer bottles/cans by resting them on the pinky.

I use it to type with. I was going to say the shocker, but I was beaten to it. I also use it in Aikido, for some of the strikes. Also good for digging in the ears and Dr. Evil impressions. Pretty much everything already said.
I lift weights with it.
On a more serious note, I guess I don't really use it that much, I move my hands around all the time when using a keyboard, so rarely use it for tapping keys. Pinky Promises are always the most secure way to make sure your secret is safe

The little finger doesn?t have much importance to itself apart from maybe some keyboard usage and with playing some instruments. For the most part it?s a finger that goes along with the others and so is probably more important and is actually used more than we realise. I imagine if I suddenly lost them it might cause some initial difficulty and a fair amount of readjustment.
