I want one of the big three companies to make an ass of themselves again like Sony '06.
$50 says its Microsoft.
$100,000 says Indigo is a huge Sony Fanboy.
Actually Microsoft, as much as I do like them, don't really seem to have much other than Halo O.D.S.T. going for them as an exclusive. Maybe they will come up with something out of that, but I don't really think that it will be anything groundbreaking or even particularly special like the last couple years.
Oh sorry, you must be new, This wasnt about facts or any company in particular. Its the fact that Indigo is the Escapists resident Anti-Microsoft Sony Fanboy.
And that changes things how exactly? Hulu, a motion controller, a Gran Turismo ripoff? Yeah, that sounds real promising.
Yeah but even if they brought out an add on that turned paper into gold, fixed world hunger, cured HIV, and where endorsed by Jesus you would still say that.
Cause it would still never be as cool as God Of War III, as needed in gaming as Trico, or as brilliant as anything Kojima does.
I find God Of War, very meh, and have no interest in the VERY Japanese story telling of Team Ico, or Kojimas games. In fact to me, even a somewhat bland game like Halo 3 is godlike in comparison to those.

So you favour blandness over action and intelligence.
Everyone's entitled to their opinion. Though for the record, I too think God of War is very meh. It's overrated, imo.

Simriel, if I'm understanding the post correctly, was remarking that the bland story of Halo 3 was 'godlike' in comparison to the Japanese storytelling of MSG4 etc.

Also, I think thinking that your game is better than everyone else's based entirely off of, well, off of pretty much speculation and alpha builds seems to quantify you for fanboy status, especially since Darksiders seems much more "GTA meets Desert meets Devil May Cry meets Zelda" than God of War (Unless you imply that quick time kills, gore, and giant weapons are copyrights of GoW, at which point we have a whole 'nother discussion on our hands.)

I would also like to add Mass Effect 2, Darksiders, and Batman: AA into the 'watching with one eye' list. My want of ME2 may grow/shrink as time goes on, but I still think I'll wait for the PC version. As for DS and B:AA, what can I say. Mark Hamil = teh winz.

For the government to take over E3 for about five minutes to announce that Fanboyism is officially a dangerous and illegal form of mental instability. The only cure is electro-shock therapy until you realize what a diseased Pollock you are. I, of course, would be the first to submit to such therapy to cure myself of the insane and unhealthy love of Bioware if it meant that other, more annoying fanboys were cured as well.

I keed, I keed, lets get on with my list.

1): More Star Wars: The Old Republic goodness.

2): More Mass Effect 2 News.

3): More Fallout: New Vegas news

4): More Fallout 3 news about Point Lookout and Mothership Zeta.

5): Saints Row 3 news. (Am I the only one who thought Saints Row 2 had a somewhat decent story?)

6): For Realtime Worlds to drop the shitty MMO their developing so they can focus on a sequel to Crackdown.

7): Mirror's Edge 2

If I had to choose between being forced to watch the cutscenes back to back of all three Halo games, in comparison to watching all of the four metal gear solids worth of cutscenes..

I'd rather watch Halo.

Halo's story is just bland sci fi dreck that does nothing to be new or inventive. Metal Gear Solid however, is just bad on a level I can't describe.

I dislike Japanese story telling in games, and find God Of War to be an over gory display of a lack of the players real manlyness.

If it's going to be some one, I think it would be MS. Nintendo had theirs last year, and it wasn't funny, it was just sad. The great thing about Sony '06 is that *they* thought they were giving out gold, and the die-hard Sony fanboys thought so as well. When Nintendo did their faceplant, no one laughed, but some cried.

Slightly off topic: I was working retail in an electronics dept in '06, and I had some 12 year old Sony fanboy starting talking to me about the awesome PS3. "It's going to have motion controls! So that means, you could hold your controller like this," *kid pantomimes pressing a controller to waist/pelvis area, and takes some horribly exaggerated waddle-steps* "and walk around, and so would your character! It's going to be awesome!" I said something like "why would you do that if you can just push the thumbstick forward?" He didn't have an answer.

I.e. it has depth.
Oh drop it. If the guy prefers Halo's story to MGS's, let him enjoy it. It's a matter of personal taste, and it doesn't matter what you think of it because it's his choice and you have no right to tell him he's wrong.

I want to see some Alan Wake. Seriously, it's about time we knew more about this thing.
Is the fascination with this project merely a factor of need, of curiosity due to time, or a genuine belief in quality? To me, it genuinely appears to be a mark of need.
For me, it's time. We know next to nothing about it besides "psychological thriller" with some light-based stuff, and that's after four solid years.

Also? Darksiders. That game looks genuinely cool. At least we know a bit about it, though: You're one of the Horsemen, and you kill shit up. Art style looks very, very nice. In addition, it's been labelled "gritty hard-mode Zelda" which is enough to make me cream my pants in glee.

...Hahaha...

No.. No really.. HAHAHA.

I'm filled with excess bile, so let me humor you.

The entire metal gear series is founded on a set of ideals and the continued pushing of these ideals.

War is bad. Pacifism is good, WMDS are bad, and that soldiers are manipulated tools of evil governments.

Its a fucking joke the people that call this deep and art. Its ripped out of so many movies and games I can't list them all.

But yes, it is deep. Deep in that it has more dialogue then actual gameplay

I never said I liked Halo's story, I was just using it as a comparison tool to Metal Gear Solid.

Alright, everyone talking about Halo vs. MGS? Shut the fuck up RIGHT NOW and take it somewhere else; this is entirely the wrong thread to be having a flame war. I'm reporting all the posts after this one dealing with it, and you other non-involved posters should do so too. It's ridiculous. Like what you want to like and stop being a prick to everyone else about it.
