Hey guys, a friend lent me a copy of Faces of War the other day and I'm finally getting around to playing it. Looks interesting except for one small problem, I started the mission and got up to a tank-fixing part of the tutorial. The game told me to take the 'repair kit' out of the tank, sure, that makes sense. I took it out and the game told me to press on the wrench on the screen to begin fixing the tank, which made sense, too...

Where the **** is it?!? I Cannot find the damn thing, maybe I'm going insane, maybe I'm ****ing retarded, but where the hell is the damn wrench icon, is it just me who's had this problem, or have others experienced it too?

That's what I've been asking myself, so now I'm asking you! Ever had this happen to you? In this game or another, a moment of complete stupidity, or a moment where the game screwed you over. (I'm guessing in my case its the former)

(Oh, and if someone could tell me where that damn wrench can be found, that'd be grand. ^^)

I've had this happen to me a lot... I mean sometimes the fixes are so simple when they are pointed out to me and all I can mutter is an "Oh..." and have a long moment of silence while I try to not beat myself up in front of the person. I get this in video games a lot, but I can't think of an example. I'll keep thinking for now though

Or...

I could just not get my head around at how someone could ever figure that out by the instructions given. This applies more to tech support... crappy tech support at that.

In Zelda: Phantom Hourglass there was a point where I needed to blow out a torch to proceed. I tried every button, every ability and searched everywhere for the solution. Then suddenly it hit me: I was supposed to literally blow into the mic on my DS.

It was so obvious when you think about it, it made me feel pretty stupid.

There were plenty of times in Half Life 2 where I done some complicated crap to get over an obstacle, then found out all you had to do was pull a lever or something.
Since finishing that game, whenever I get lost, I ALWAYS look for a button or lever or something before I try anything else.

Also, in Pokemon Silver, a Snorlax blocks your path at one point, and there's no way to proceed until you wake it up. I looked everywhere for a poke-flute (which is how you woke him up in R/B/Y), and after hours and hours of searching, I still couldn't find it.I must've bactracked all of Kanto and Johto a million times. But then, I suddenly realised you don't need a poke-flute - you just play a song from your radio.

I'm terrible with this too, doesn't help that most tech support employees seem to be Indian, and whilst I have nothing against Indians, I've got an issue with the accent when its thick.

I've actually got another one, I've recently played Evil Genius and was trying to interrogate people. I kept clicking on interrogate, the woman would say "Click on the item you wish to use for interrogation" and I would proceed to click on the chair. Nothing! I did this for AGES before leaving it, I came back the next day, tried again for probably 10 minutes when I looked at my my hand and thought... "Wait a second... Left click."

No shit, I was that stupid, ^_^ (or atleast used to normal RTS controls)

Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines I spent ages trying to activate a phone that I was suposed to pick up. The directions were "down the street from the sex shop" I found two but neither were ringing, it turned out that it was refering to a phone in the wall that I must have passed several times.
