Prefferably more balance so when I enchant armor to chameleon 100% and 100% reflect there's still some challange left I would also like guards who vary in levels prefferably based on rank and time as well as voices and names for more guards also NPCs should be more realistic when you touch their apple and not start swinging their mace at you perhaps say if you took a guards apple he just says hey that's my apple and your relationship decreases until you put it back also allow for npcs to warn you and say put it down or else and then you get caught it again and you have guards all over you, NPCs should vary in personality more not everyone in the world hits you with a mace and calls the cops when you go into an employees only section at mcdonalds, have more sidequests with giant monsters and dragons I mean it is a western rpg so I think its only fair we get fight to the death with an ogre riding a dragon every once in a while, as I said before its not balanced but I would also like for their to be more epic adventurers and bandits who are insanely strong with creative spell combinations and abilities also make us be able to see or catch other npcs trying to mug someone while in stealth and have some other guy trying to increase his acrobratics by jumping around the city all day like he's schitzofrenic or something, have guys doing stuff more like maybe at some mixed martial arts magic monk school have some guys who spar in various exciting ways in one corner another guy lifting rocks and having his friend and have the 3 guys at the pond the one who can waterjump and is practicing one who is trying to waterjump and failing and another being a prick pretending he can waterjump but really he just has the walk on water spell casted, oh also more weapon variations.

-A plot either not ripped straight out of the "Marketable Cliche Plot Catalog", or a well-written plot (Mass Effect might be cliche', but at least I give a shit about their characters. I didn't give a damn about anyone in Oblivion or Fallout 3)

-A game that doesn't account for 90% of my computer's crashes (no exaggeration. Most of my crashes within the last 6 years have been a result of Bethesda games' sloppy programming and non-existent product support. They now leave fixing the bugs to the fucking FANS OF THE GAME. How stupid is that?!)

-Good core gameplay, rather than relying entirely on the mods to carry the game for them.

-More interesting combat. The "Block n Bash" combat in Oblivion was only a minor upgrade from Morrowind's "Slappy Swords".
-A much better Magic system that makes spells act like SPELLS again, rather than rechargeable colored crossbow bolts.

-More than 8 voice-actors. If you cannot afford any more, than perhaps they should stick to generic voice-actors only for the disposable NPCs, keeping the better talent for quest/story-NPCs (who hopefully won't disappear 2 quests into the game because Bethesda couldn't afford to pay them).

I was thoroughly happy with Oblivion. But here are a few things that I would enjoy:

-A few more skills, as in, one more per attribute.

-Morrowind's fast travel system (Crucify me if you want, but I liked it because it would give you a way to spend money. I, like Yahtzee, hate having incredible hordes of "useless fucking money".)

-Definitely more voice actors, or at least more voices per actor. I'll say, different voices for each race, and at least 2 different ones per gender per race. I'm sure there are plenty of people out there, myself included, who would gladly voice act in that game for free, just for the sake of creating a more varied game world.

-Slightly improve the graphics/engine/whathaveyou. I thought Oblivion's engine was quite well done, if a little simplistic with the occasional glitch. But don't spend too much time on that.

-Larger game world, because why not? Morrowind had so much shit stuffed into a smaller area than Oblivion had in its larger area. I feel like that's why Morrowind felt bigger to me. Oblivion was 16 mi[sup]2[/sup]. Let's bump that up to an even 20, and put more places of interest. Nine cities with one destroyed? I don't think so. Give us towns, villages, outposts, forts that are currently in use, all of that stuff.

-Last but not least, seafaring. I know it won't be quite as sensible to have it since the coastline of Skyrim is only the north, but I always wanted seafaring an Elder Scrolls game. It would really only be appropriate if the game took place on Summerset Isle or something. I had a whole plot line made up in my head about that whole deal. Whatever. I can only dream?

Better magic system with lots of different spells, and more gems in enchanting, or at least the ability to use more than one gem to boost the power of the weapon. This could also be tied in to an enchanting level to prevent players breaking the game by getting a sword that does 9000+ damage per hit at level one.

Dragons as horses.

A plot. Not the bullshit we got in oblivion.

A bigger world than Oblivion, not in terms of dungeons and citys, but a bigger actual world. Also more boss battles and quests outside of dungeons. I hate dungeons.

Evil choices.

No scaling monsters, i want to finish the game then go back to the st arting area and not be attacked by rats that are more powerful than the end boss i just killed.

Change the guild system back to how it was in Morrowind. Bringing back the removed weapons/armor from Morrowind, and making a distinction (again) between long and short swords, blunt and axes... Also, more than the small amount of ACTUAL cities than in Oblivion (again, more like Morrowind)...

Damn. I was really looking forward to a Summerset Isle setting likely involving that Artaeum (sp?) place that they keep bringing up in the game lore as some sort of fantastical place with immense magical power. Oh well, maybe next time. Skyrim looks like it could be pretty good.

OT: I think I'd actually like them to take out the voice acting at least in regards to NPCs. There was an article on the Escapist at some point explaining how the addition of voice acting has the effect of limiting options. Having played both Morrowind and Oblivion I think I might agree with that theory. Morrowind felt freer to me somehow.

Less copy & paste environments, more spell animations, more weapon and armor types, customizable weapons and armor (I HATE IT in rpgs where it's just a matter of "heavy armor x is better than heavy armor y, time to upgrade!" Make me think about what I need to have equipped for certain situations.) I'm okay with scaling levels (always keeps the combat exciting on high difficulties, is meant to discourage grinding, encourages leveling intelligently, I don't want to ever have to wade through a group of crappy cannon fodder goblins when I just became The Jesus.), but it should be fixed. Bandits wearing Daedric armor was silly. Also, the obvious, more voice actors, less bugs and glitches (not getting my hopes up), and the one thing I wanted ever since Morrowind appears like it is in fact being added.

If it's a fantasy RPG, there should be freakin dragons in it, AND, they should always represent the ultimate challenge to the player. Dragon Age did this right, and now I'm hoping Skyrim will, too.

Like a lot of people, I'd like to see more weapons. I'd also like to see the stealth class improve. It's incredibly difficult to make a powerful stealth character.

Player mods on consoles... Too bad that will never happen.

The thing that bothered me about Oblivion the most was how difficult proper leveling was. I spent 100 hours training my character before finally getting into the game, and by that time I was too tired of it and decided to go play an MMO to take a relaxing break from that grindfest. (ok, so 70 of those hours consisted of leaving the console running with the analog stick taped up and most of the rest were mashing the jump button or magic button)

I believe Gamebryo is no more.
The company is no more, but Beth have been working on the game for 2 years so I'd be very surprised if it's not built on Gamebryo.
I do believe there is am engine newer than the FO3/FONV one, called Lightspeed, but I doubt if it's going to be a big improvement.

I want beast races to not just look like humans with fur/scales. Have them be more beastly and let me play as a Sload.

Triple the hours worth of gameplay...

Longer story...

Make it a little bit more like Morrowind...

Maybe a date simulator..? Maybe?

Other than these, I honestly wouldn't mind getting more of the same...

Some dragons, and some new races. Plus, bringing back some of the old spells and skills from morrowind would be cool. I want to levitate badly.

They have announced a new engine See here [http://twitter.com/bethblog].

Apart from that I would love to see a greater variety of towns, as was seen in Morrowind. You had your big cities, small towns and scattered villages. And there were lots of them. All Oblivion had were some big cities and some tiny farms.

In that case, prepare to be very surprised, as I just was.

Get the fuck in. I loved the games built on that engine, but it was horrifically buggy and wasn't exactly the prettiest. Now we might be able to steal without having every item on the table jump up an inch.

OT: The one thing I want, I got. So I'll say more voice actors that are appropriately placed. Maybe some German or Russian accents Scottish could work for Nords.

More guilds where you have a lot more power for ranking up in them would also be very nice.

Lore. Lots and lots of lore as well.
