What new things does 09 have to offer for gamers? Just sequels or something more what do you think?

More sequels. Every sports title will have a '10' instead of a '09'
More failed MMOs (thank god, hopefully by 2010 all MMO development will cease and developers can get back to making real games instead of time-syncs).
More bad movie-related titles. Sadly, these will probably never stop being developed.
There will be new titles as well.

There are three Halo games coming out you know. Halo 3 ODST, Halo chronicles and Halo Wars. I look forward to the first two, not so sure about Halo Wars though.
CoD6 should be coming out later this year and beta test a few months before it's release. I hope to get both of them.
Brutal Legend comes out in the Fall (Spring for me). That looks like a good game.
And at the moment that's all I'm looking forward to. 2009 lacks it's Fallout 3, it's Little Big Planet, it's GTA 4, it's Metal Gear Solid. It should give me time to get older games I have missed.

StarCraft 2, Diablo 3 and Halo Wars. I didn't like Halo 1, 2 & 3, but i can't resist a Real-Time Stratagy Game. I hope they do stop making movie spin-off games. It never started well to begin with. Look at ET for the atari... they litteraly buried the games.
Ii think the whole point was to highlight exactly how redundant prequels, sequels and re-releases tend to be, given how gaming is now a mainstream thing, developers are jumping to release games that they feel were under appreciated in the day when gaming was still an underground thing.Fire Daemon said:
