The description claims that it will give you chills. I did none of that for me. I feel nothing.

Well, I'm not American so I don't really give a damn about it. Personally, I think it's a bit sickening, the way that slice of patriotism is brought... Ah well...

Nothing really, not american. Just thought it was a little sad that they made the commercial. Also why was there the video of the flag raising at Iwo jima when the movie was about the normandy beach landings? Also I doubt people would be that apathetic while watching real war footage while being with a veteran.

Well, I see the point, but I found it rather cheesy.

[sub]And after a while 'I fought for you' started sounding like 'I fart for you'[/sub]

Wow people, are escapist readers really that indifferent to sacrifices of our fathers? Also, this is ABOUT Americans, but it can apply to any other armed forces as well. England was hit harder than the US was in WW2 anyways, there was even more at stake there.

Really? Hate the war, don't hate the soldiers who put themselves on the line.

How exactly does patriotism "fuck things up"?

EDIT: Ps Im not saying I especially enjoyed the video, but it did discuss important issues. And it was definitely not laughable :-/

I lost interest the moment he took them into the cinema and I heard the narrator mention the year 1941.

Two years......TWO FUCKING YEARS. That's how late you were!

It quickly turns into "My Country Right Or Wrong" and that turns into a racist POS country that wants to kill everyone.
Well, honestly patriotism is often a symptom of racism, not the other way around. When people become xenophobic they look to the government to do something about the "Invaders". This happened in America in the 1920's as from the xenophobia came a sense of Nativism that our country is best. That basically screwed over all the eastern Europeans who had immigrated to the US.

You, know I do salute the men and women who are sent to war and are forced to deal with the horrors and the death that constantly surround them. I salute them because it takes a special kind of person to subject yourself to that in order to defend what you believe in.

I have never said that a soldier is stupid for going to war and dying even if I consider it to be a senseless war.

No, they deserve our respect. It's the people who send those brave people to war that deserve our criticism and anger.

I feel as if the comment at the end should be "We salute the brave men and women that sacrificed so much on the whim of a single idiotic and/or power hungry leader."
