My avatar is Renamon, in a very out-of-character pose where she has this great big smile on her face. Renamon is my favorite Digimon, and I will probably stick with this avatar for a long time. There's just something about it that makes me smile everytime I see her. I love it.
I just stole it from one of my favourite online comics. I might change to another one from that comic soon though, they make good avatar material!

Its one of my favorite rappers, Thes One, who also happens to be a huge influence on me. So I guess so.
I found this one on the internets. And I really enjoy it because it's a fricken retarded Pikachu! 
I picked my avatar in part because of my educational background, which deals mostly with chemistry, biology, and toxicology. I decided to pick a chemical structure that had it's hand in all three fields. As for what that chemical is, well, I leave that for other science-minded individuals to figure out.
