Its now just another day in the year to me.

With the exception of being able to legitimately eat cake and get completely shit faced without anyone having a go at me.

Hi. Today it's been 19 years since I was born.
Happy birthday! I was 19 on the 20th.

I get some presents and my friends promise to do something with me as soon as they are all free. I kind of lost the hyper excitement for celebrations half way through highschool. Birthdays are pleasant though.

Happy Birthday! I turned 19 on the first.

It's a good excuse to hangout with a few friends and have a swell time.

Happy birthday!

Since my birthday is two days before christmas, work. In my job, people are not allowed the week before christmas day off. I usually don't hear from people about my birthday until after christmas.

Being several hours older than the day before. Seriously though, being born on the 25th of December i wait a few days to have a family dinner at a place of my choosing. Other than that, i guess my next one i'll legally be an adult, right after the November election that i was hoping i could participate in this year. -____- guess I'll just "instruct" my mom who to vote for this time.

As an amature alcoholic, it's a great opportunity to get turnt. I enjoy celebrating with friends and dancing, it's really fun.

That I've traveled 26 trillion, 320 million kilometers (and some change) around the sun on a ball of rock. (And now some wiki wizards/math types know how old I am <_<)

Age is kind of a made up thing, based on Earth's orbit if you go by years (and thereby different if you were on Mars or whatever), or an approximation of the detrimental effects of radiation/impact/chemical poisoning/etc breaking your body down. I've sort of stopped caring about it.

OT: My birthday is nothing more than like any other day in the year, which may or my lead to another [separate] day where I spend time with friends at our local Dave & Busters playing [arcade] games like DDR, Arctic Thunder, and Time Crisis 3... Other than that, all it does is prove how subjectively fast life can go by via one's own personal retrospect...

Happy Birthday TC...or belated Birthday if I'm behind the trend.

As for me, my birthday is usually a pretty simple thing. My folks and I go out to dinner (assuming I'm visiting home over the summer, which I usually am since my birthday is in July) and maybe I invite a few friends over for drinks and games of the tabletop or video variety.

To me a birthday is about doing the things you love to do with the people you love to do those with...and getting free dessert at your favorite restaurants.

My birthday too! (The 24th, that is. I'm aware that it's the 25th UK time now.)

I'm 34 now though, and that's past the point where anyone - especially me - cares any more. I do try to make a point of not being stuck at work for the day, though, but most of my house struggle to even remember the fact (on my 30th, my uncle didn't realise until he saw a flood of messages on my Facebook; this year he's in Scotland visiting my sister and neither of them have even acknowledged the event).

So yeah, a resounding meh.

Happy birthday dude!

To me it means pweasants! No I don't care I'm not twelve any more, my birthday is close enough to Christmas for this to be my one batch of presents a year. And I make sure to savor the heck out of it.

It also means a small family dinner out at whatever isn't closed for the holidays. Usually a wok place (I guess they're not too fussed about Western holidays?) because f*ck yeah! Wok!

Oh and lately it unfortunately also means studying. 'Round these parts exams start right after holidays, boo! I try not to think of it as exams ruining my birthday but rather as my birthday shedding some light on those dark days.

My birthday? Yeah, I don't celebrate my birthday. It's a cursed day where only bad things can happen. I take the day off and do nothing as I'm sure if I worked that day I would cut off my arm or something.

The day I was born, I almost died multiple times and didn't even cry for a minute after I was born. First birthday I was still recovering from blood poisoning as our neighbor (a grown woman) bit me on the arm because I "bit" her daughter on the cheek. Pretty much every birthday after that was unpleasant. After years of trying to make it be a good day, despite people forgetting it, getting in fights, or just plain ruining it, I finally decided to stop celebrating and embrace how horrible it was. This was confirmed to be true after a girl I was planning to propose to basically broke up with me and tried to pawn me off on a friend of hers on my birthday.

Woo! I fucking hate my birthday.

The milestones have lost a bit of their meaning now though, as it's become increasingly apparent that age doesn't really guarantee much past a rather nebulous line somewhere in the latter half of one's teen years, stupid.
I think there is a point where one "becomes" an adult, its when you realise your parents are mortal, there are no garuntees in life, bad things can happen and that you've got to make your own way

that sounds more depressing than I intended but I definetly feel very different from 18 to now....

its also important to occupy yourself with other people so you don't think too much and get all morbid...like me

It doesn't mean much to me. As I get older I actually don't like it much.
I'd like to do something to celebrate though. It's an excuse for fun, and it's nice to be the centre of attention.
Unfortunately what keeps happening is I fail to plan anything then spend the day itself desperately trying to do something, only to achieve something at a later date.
I haven't had a birthday party in like 8 years.

First off, happy birthday. I hope you have a good one.

My birthday means very little to me. I guess that is mostly the result of not really having anyone to spend it with most of the time. I just don't feel like the day I was born is worth celebrating I suppose. :p

It means another year of virginity

It means I am getting older and still don't know where my life is heading

It means I have a legitimate excuse for getting drunk

It means I am a year older than last year.
