My first was a enormous underground complex that also incorporated several mines With only one entry, I blocked off all others that I discovered.

My current ambition/dream/obsession/base is a half-size scale replica of Orthanc, with surrounding gardens (Thats Isengard for the commoners) with the tower built entirely out of obsidian.

I guess this says that I don't like to open myelf to others, and that when I do, its only to present a harsh exterior.

A castle surronded by a lava moat and a wall, and my room will soon be a small wooden cabin at the top surronded by a garden.

I don't really know how much that says other than I like the midevil time peroid and I like to be protected.

sp1 - cobblestone castle with balcony, tower, duel lava pillars, stream, dock and garden all fenced in. my favourite part would be a small room that i have covered in grass to make it look like a hill or something and it has a pool in it that has a waterfall into my basement/mine

sp2 - working on an underwater city of some kind

mp1 - big hole blown down into a mountain with a minecart track leading to a waterfall that hides a door to a replica of the house i grew up in and opposite to the waterfall was a booster track that went way out from the city my friends made to a secluded island which i built yoshi on next to a mountain with an attempted replica of my parents house on the thats other side of the country (i live in newfoundland and they moved to alberta and i was visiting at the time i made the house)

mp2 - basically a box under friends town

not sure what these mean, aside from the yoshi... i <3 yoshi ^_^

Step 1. Find cave.
Step 2. Burrow out to make one entrance.
Step 3. Put a door on it.
Step 4. ????????
Step 5. PROFIT!

I always find a cave in a highly populated area and highly forested. I'm not a hippy, more of an educated naturalist.

I hate the sun, or I want to own the sun. Depends on the base.
I have a huge, glass tower, and a huge underground cave.

a small castle that has tunnels below it that go to bead rock (and in every direction other than that), so it kind of presents itself as a small outpost and it is so much more. (like it has a hidden underwater glass room)

i guess i present myself as one thing and i am something completely different. so yeah my minecraft base is very like me

When I first picked up minecraft I hurried to build a small dwelling within the side of the mountain, and eventually carved it out with tunnels and passages going everywhere. You couldn't see much from the surface.

My more recent (main) world saw me start by going to the top of the highest mountain I could see and then building a small house on top. I eventually replaced the dirt walls with secure-feeling cobblestone followed by completely changing it to glass (so I could see what was lingering outside of my house). I then built a mine down to bedrock and hollowed out a fair section at the bottom... But I only go down there when I need more cobble.

After that I then built an epicly long skybridge back towards my spawn point with a tower there to access it. I then just branched out everywhere into many different directions essentially creating my own sort of "freeway" in the sky.

So in other words, "I have no idea what is says about me:p"

TL;DR
A very outdated video of my base:

(It has changed a lot since then).

I built Sauron's tower with the flaming eye and everything.
wow

Awesome, any screenshots you can share?
Sounds freaking epic
It's not as big as I want it to be yet
and it's a shame that I had to use cobblestone

Says that I have no imagination.
Any buildings I make are square or rectangular. Whenever I try to build something creative, it's always some simple geometric, repeating pattern or something.
I felt like making a Mt Rushmore-esque sculpture out of the side of a big hill near my house... I ended up hollowing out a cube.
I then decide to build something in it... I made a pyramid.

Good question.
I have a yellow pyramid that has a hole in the top. Go down this hole and you will eventually be in an underground, upside-down pyramid of a different coloured material. There is one block of a different colour in this pyramid, destroy it, and you will have access to the entrance of two afterlife themed mazes, one heaven, one hell. Both lead to a different place on the surface.
What does that say?

Umm... so far I've spent less time building and more time exploring. There's just so much uncharted territory out there...

I did the same with the maze only, I made a small settlement...mainly cause I only play online so it's much easier to gloat about my brilliant town...I think the best part was when we got a load of people who weren't regulars on our server and just decided to make an army out of them, destroying each others town. Afterwards we then claimed victory (simultaneously) and proceeded to build a new settlement on each other's ruins...this has happened 3 times now. Let's see if he can destroy obsidian this time >=]

My first one was a giant floating stone house with a lava moat, and an underground labyrinth with a cave system, mining system, under-water glass dome, and an underground rail network between islands. I was really lucky in that I made my house, and then dug down to find a massive cave full to the brim with Gold, Coal, Iron, and Diamond. On my second play through I only spent a night on, I made a wood cabin floating inside a lake.
I guess I really like floating houses.
