Howdy Off-Topic!
I'm disappointed in the lack of Christmas-y threads in this forum, so let's make this place roughly 5% merrier! Plus, my family have just finished wrapping and placing presents under the tree,[footnote]With the exception ofmy mum Santa, who puts her his presents down later.[/footnote] so my tree won't look any different until tomorrow.
So, let's have a discussion about that classic conifer that consistently becomes the centrepiece at this celebratory time of year: The Christmas Tree. Have you gone for a traditional classic [http://www.villagelife.com/files/2010/12/ChristmasTree.jpg] or wild and experimental [http://craphound.com/images/1qvnB.jpg]? Is every bauble carefully selected and positioned perfectly or just thrown anywhere where it will stay? Is it real or plastic?[footnote]If anyone asks, yes, this is still about the tree.[/footnote]

[footnote]I wonder if anyone's going to point out that my title is 'Giftless Loser' despite there being plenty of gifts under that tree.[/footnote][/spoiler]
The tree itself is plastic. We used to get wood trees but have just been reusing this one for the past few years. My mum wanted a red & gold theme this year, so we've only used those colours for decorations. I was originally of the opinion 'screw themes, just use all the decorations', but I now think the more restrained look is kind of nice. The fairy on top is one we use every year.
So Escapists, that's my tree out of the way. How about yours, or any other decorations you may have?
