Nothing really. Hell, I came up with it a few years back when I was addicted to Miniclip.com as a substitute for my real name on the scoreboards. I started using it again when I started commenting on webcomics.

I made up my current username for an assassin I played in a D&D campaign over 10 years ago.

His full name was Daenor Nulmas, by the way :)

It means black black in Ancient Greek

I stole it off some girl in high school because I thought it was cool and she was only using it for DeviantArt. Since I was using the internet a lot more than her I appropriated it.

Well...it's my name?

I tend not to hide behind usernames. Partly because it keeps my own posts reasonably sane.

My brother and I made a really awful computer game starring this character:

who in turn got his name from a scene in the first Spider-Man movie, during the montage where it shows different New Yorkers' reactions to Spider-Man's arrival. There's a cop who says that Spidey is "some kinda freaky-loo or somethin'; wackadoo". This stuck in our heads because wat @ that line.

So when we were going to name our awful new character, we went with "Freaky Lou". For some reason he exuded electricity when he died, and had a button command that'd make him yell a plethora of randomized insults inside word bubbles as long as you held it down.

This username has backfired though because out of context, "Freaky Lou" just sounds like the pervert down the hall.

Harkonnen comes from the Dune series. I haven't actually read any of the books but I watched the movie once and thought it was a cool name.

64 because the N64 is the finest gaming console ever made, and if you disagree with me I will fight you. That's no lie.

I'm obsessed with technology. I'm always taking things apart, tweaking mechanisms etc, so when I played my first online multiplayer game, CoD1, and got good I started using the name "teq". A couple of years later my hardware was drastically outdated so I waited a while, upgraded and added the suffix as a callback to the previous name.

Back when I joined The Escapist, I was still playing WoW. My main was a draenei elemental shaman called Azaradel, and I'd gotten so used to being called Aza, I figured I might as well roll with the same name here.

If I remember correctly, it's an alternate name for the archangel Sariel that appears in some translations of Enoch.

Vern was the shared name of a bunch of people who used to play Runescape together, back when it was 2D.

I met the first Vern while playing as my original character way back in the day and he was a pretty cool guy. He was some guy who played during work so he must have had a pretty easy job. He was married with kids. Later on I got the idea to play a joke on him so me and a few friends decided to make new accounts as Verns 2 through 5. I picked 5 for no reason in particular. We would all log in and follow him around like the annoying little brats we were.

This only lasted for a few days but me and Vern4 would still play for a while. Later, I found that Vern stopped playing. Vern2 said he had died. Not sure if I really believe it, though.

It means I really liked TFC when I was in primary school. You can guess my favourite class.

It also means, I'm dedicated, I specifically chose to keep using it, even though it sounds very unprofessional. A name is just a word, It's only value is that people know you by it. Enough people know me by this name(in forums and stuff, it'd be a mouthful to say IRL) that it felt like it was worth the effort to keep using it.

It's been with me for around a decade now, I felt like I grew out of it a long time ago, but I plan to keep on using it anyway.

Nickname from school was sometimes Fish, LordFish seemed a logical extension for a gaming handle.

I also use DeadFish sometimes, but not for accounts.

My name is well.... a misspelling... the first time i used this username I wanted Nerevarine from Morrowind.... but i was to stupid to spell it properly... though i kinda like my name better.... people shorten it to Nev, which is cooler sounding than Ner....
