What Ever Happened To Oddworld Games?

Why it's an honest question that hasn't been addressed really in my opinion. Taking you back to the early days of the PS1 in the 90s, Abe's Oddessy hit and showed us that a 2D adventure game could be awesome fun, mind-testing and entertaining, without the need for bloody violence. (Well most of the blood came out of Abe as you died. A lot.)

Anyway the series brought out a second game on the PS1 which was just as good, but then it hit the Xbox with Munch's and Stranger's, and it sort of went wrong...not because the developers went wrong, mainly because it split from the formula that kicked ass back in the 90s.

So peeps I ask you this; why haven't the Oddworld games returned. I expected a PSN or XBLA re-release of the original two adventures. Well XBLA because Oddworld seemed to cater for the Microsoft consoles and operating systems.

So I ask you Escapistees, do you miss the Oddworld games? Do you want a new addition in the games? Do you even care? Make your opinion known!!

I miss the original Abe's odessey and exodus.
but munch's odessey and stranger's wrath kind of ruined it all.

I was just confused by the Oddworld games, so utterly confused that I never actually got into them very well. Maybe they were meant to be confusing, and I just wasn't in the correct mindset. Still, even if they did get a re-release, I'd probably stay away from them.

Yes, I miss them. But, not unlike Sonic, would a new-fangled adventure... *really* be a good idea?

Stranger's Wrath was awesomely different. As were all of the games really... The studio is making a new game called Citizen Siege, but it will probably never be released or come out several years from now...

Also, it would be great if they made a new one. But didn't The Oddworld Inhabitants shut down their studios...?

Hell yeah! The movie that they are going to make will hopefully not be horrible, but decent.

The first two games where great if odd and really hard from what I remember. Never played any of the xbox titles so I have no idea what happened to the series but the weird humour it had made it great fun even when I was really frustrated with it.

I like them, I liked Stranger's Wrath a lot. Hopefully they release a new game soon. That is, if they're still around.

I still have the first game on PC. Yes, legally bought.

Loved every second of it. I mean, what's not to like about platforming, saving Mudokons and a farting Abe?

Abe's Exxodus was the first PC game I thoroughly enjoyed. I do miss Oddworld and their strange sense of humor, and would be happy if they brought back the platformer. but I read somewhere (Game Informer, I think)that the studio had shut down. They will be missed.

I didn't care too much for Oddworld, but I've never played one to the end before. If they release a new one I might get interested, but probably not.

You could always just play the Exoddus and Oddysee games for PC.
