No, 2 is superior to one, combat was greatly improved from the first game.RedEyesBlackGamer said:First game has a way better story. Combat is clunky, but it is superior to 2.
Wasn't very clear in that sentence. Combat is clunky, but ME is a better game than 2.Nomanslander said:No, 2 is superior to one, combat was greatly improved from the first game.RedEyesBlackGamer said:First game has a way better story. Combat is clunky, but it is superior to 2.
That makes me laugh. Think shitty copy of Gears of War shooting gallery mechanics with an extremely poor AI is an more apt description of both Mass Effect games. The only tactic you needed was to hide behind cover as far as possible back and pick off the idiot AI, nothing strategical about the game at all.Frozen Donkey Wheel2 said:Think Gears of War or Uncharted, but with far more strategy involved. It's definitely a smart shooter.
I wouldn't say it's a better game, it just has a better told story. What most players didn't appreciate from the second game was how much the RPG elements were streamlined or better said, "dumbed down." But the second game is still a much better put together game as a third person shooter. I actuarially enjoyed the combat this time.RedEyesBlackGamer said:Wasn't very clear in that sentence. That would be your opinion. I wouldn't state it as fact. I prefer Me over ME2, neither of us are wrong.Nomanslander said:Now as for someone that favors RPG elements over TPS elements, I can understand why the first game might seem better. But it just isn't...=/
Eh, I beg to differ. ME2 was, basically, all about characterisation, and I feel that it vastly surpassed 1 in that area. And as someone who enjoys that a lot, I prefer ME2, if only slightly. 1 Had a couple of things that were arguably better than in 2 though; the ingame universe felt a lot more grand and it had more customisation. Instead of fixing those problems they scrapped them all together, which might be a little too drastic.RedEyesBlackGamer said:Wasn't very clear in that sentence. Meh, at least in ME you had a lot more options on how to tackle the situation at hand. Every class offered a wide range of options and gameplay variations.tehroc said:That makes me laugh. If by harder you mean "Spam Assassination", without it your Sniper did a pitiful amount of damage.Hashime said:I quite likes the combat in ME1. There was less pressure from ammo supplies so you could address a situation as you saw fit. Plus Sniping on ME1 was harder, which I enjoyed as there was challenge.
I also much preferred the story and item systems.
Wow. I did not realise it was possible to feel this much love for another human being.Irridium said:snip PROFOUND TRUTHS snip
Not to mention the fact that those ammo drops re-spawn infinitely. So, if the fight is going on too long and you're low on ammo, you can always go back to that location to get more.Woodsey said:Can't say I ever had any problems - there are usually some ammo clips lying around anyway, not dropped by enemies.
I looked it up and you're correct. I had completely forgotten about that because it's been so long since I first got that achievement.Avatar Roku said:Umm...I believe you can only get the Spectre weapons on subsequent playthroughs, and only if you get the Rich achievement. I could be wrong, though.
True, but when you did hit with assassin, damn.Spencer Petersen said:If by harder you mean "Spam Assassination", without it your Sniper did a pitiful amount of damage.Hashime said:I quite likes the combat in ME1. I do agree that the lack of ammo made it more fun, as it added more variables when considering weapon upgrades and cooldowns. I also preferred the inventory in that there was one, and there was more then one upgrade for your weapon![]()
This, i personally would avoid playing it if i were you. I played it to about the middle of the game and from that point on i had to force myself to finish it. (Same goes for one of my friends), i hate to say this but, you should just check the ME1's story online and the proceed straight to ME2. (ME2 is awesome compared to the first one)arragonder said:really clunky controls, snipers get bum fucked, story was....well I could only play to about halfway before I had to stop.
