I have been wondering for a while about this and Google has no answers, neither do my friends or a dictionary.

What exactly is a Pulitzer Laureate? Does it mean something? Or is it a name?

For that matter, what is a Gonzo?

I am of course referring to the ranks on this forum. Anyone have any answers?

You mean you thought they were something other than arbitrary names which look kinda cool?
As far as I know, the only real thing that's even remotely important about them is that they're all related to writing/journalism.

"Gonzo" refers to a variety of journalism in which reporters would get up close and personal with the thing they were reporting on, often as a first-person narrative (see: Hunter S. Thompson).

"Pulitzer Laureate" refers to someone who has won the Pulitzer, a prominent award in writing circles.

"Pulitzer Laureate" refers to the Pulitzer Prize, a reward that recognizes literary achievement.

"Gonzo" refers to Gonzo Journalism, a style of journalism that, instead of direct reporting, uses story style, often with the reporter as the main character, which was popularized by Hunter S. Thompson.
