When I say what FPS had the best campaign Im talking personally to you. It might be you liked it because of its story or maybe you just liked it because it was just downright fun and you could do it over and over again. So tell me what your all time favorite FPS campaign.

Now Its really hard not to say Bio Shock because it was solely based around its campaign but if I had to say something else it would be Killzone 2. Even though the story wasn't all that great it was just a blast to play.
EDIT: OMG I almost forgot about Timespliters Future Perfect! Truly the most original game and story ive ever seen.

I though F.E.A.R. - It was a perfectly paced story with lots of action. The add-ons and sequils sucked though

The campaign in CoD4 was really good. It wasn't the over the top bullshit that was MW2.

Edit: Thought it was for war games, in that case, the best FPS campaign for me is Bioshock.

I liked a lot of Reach's campaign, at least all the parts where Brutes weren't involved.
I'm not that sure why I found it fun, but it was one of those things that I wanted to go back to playing about 5 minutes after I turned it off.
Still going to trade it in. Stupid multiplayer, why do I have to suck so much at you?

Halo: Combat Evolved, no question. It's visually beautiful, its simple story is paced and told perfectly, and the gameplay is simply phenomenal.

Half-Life 2 would probably be my runner up.

In my own opinion, I have to nominate Blacksite...that's Blacksite:Area 51 for any Americans reading this ^.^

Now I will admit the game is pants, with the gameplay bordering too close to the Call of Duty series, and the bad guys looking like they've just walked away from a Half Life/Quake convention...but the story and dialog was actually pretty good (even if it could get Anvilicious sometimes - looking at you Summers!), and I'm often of the opinion that it shouldn't have been a game, but a low budget TV Show or Movie.

Halo: Combat Evolved easily has the best campaign of any FPS I've played.

F.E.A.R, Half Life, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chernobyl were also quite fun.

I still like Soldier of Fortune's storyline, so I'll just throw that out there.

Off Topic: @Kirov- When I saw the top of your avatar, I thought it was an Arbiter from SC XD

Deus Ex

(The only game i know that may beast it is System Shock 2 which I haven't played)

Honorable mentions- Bioshock, the thief games, and Deus Ex Invisible WAr (not as good as the first Deus Ex but even with small areas, being short, and long loading times, still less linear and more fun than most FPS games).

MMModern Warfare 2.

Yes.

Yes, I am serious.

I enjoyed the hell out of it - it was fast-paced, well-acted, genuinely fun to play and had a ton of great set-pieces.

I'd have to choose the original Operation Flashpoint even if it might not be considered an fps. There was a good level of diversity in the missions and the fact that everything wasn't prescripted and you could be left alone with your entire squad dead really kept it interesting. Veteran had a mean difficulty curve too so it always felt good to make it to the next mission by the skin of your teeth.
