There's a 40 in my hand right now and I'm feeling thoughtful. So, putting these two qualities together, I came up with this thread.

What game best recreates drunkenness? For me, I think it was in Bioshock. Whenever you drink several alcoholic drinks in rapid succession, your vision blurs, sounds change, and lights shift in intensity and origin. It got to the point where I would actively avoid alcoholic beverages I found in Rapture (which is counterintuitive to my real life personality). Maybe the effects upon your character are not as accurate as the real life experience of actually being drunk, but they came pretty close.

So what games do you think recreated drunkenness with the most accuracy?

I think GTA 4 did a good job representing drunken behavior especially on dates. There is nothing like killing your girlfriend in a traffic accident because you were too shitfaced to drive.

I actually like the drunken weaving, screen blur, and projectile vomiting in WoW...

But I gotta agree with GTAIV overall.

I, too, was going to say GTA 4. It simulates being dirt-nap drunk perfectly.

I've never played a drunk simulator, but Saint's Row recreated being high pretty damn well
Of course, I've never been high (or drunk, for that matter). That's just what I assume being high feels like

GTAIV

Remember how frustrating it was just to get Niko to do the smallest thing when he was drunk? Thats pretty much a spot-on depiction of your motor skills when you are blitzed like him.
