What game deserves a remake?

I'd kind of like to see a complete overhaul of Fallout: New Vegas in a more stable engine sometime in the future, since I don't see any miraculous, lag-fixing patches coming out anytime soon. If it weren't for its technical issues, I'd consider one of the best games ever made.

Besides that, Fallout 1&2, Half-Life 1 (alongside Blue Shift and Opposing Force), Thief 1&2, System Shock 2, and Deus Ex 1 would all deserve to be remade with shiny new graphics.

Megaman Legends 1 and 2, with current gen graphics, some extra content like more bonus bosses and new weapons, (maybe some Megaman X references?). OR Legaia 2: Duel Saga. I think that Tactical Arts System it had had massive potential. I wish more games would use it/ something like it!

Oh, and Rogue Galaxy. Level 5 should remake that instead of making White Knight Chronicles games. :/
AND Dark Cloud 1 and 2, they should be remade....
OH again; The Drakengard series should be remade, and the first Drakengard should be slightly tweaked to have it's alt ending be more directly linked to NIER.

Syndicate...
The isometric, top down, squad based one. I've already got my disappointed face ready for the deus ex clone we're being sold instead.

Ones that have already been said that need repeating:

X-COM
Deus Ex
Homeworld
Alpha Centauri

Ones that I haven't seen mentioned:

Arcanum
-the gameplay could be a little dodgy from time to time but the world and lore they created were beautiful.

Jedi Outcast
-this was the first game I played where the melee option was far more enjoyable than the ranged. Once you get the sabre, it's all you need.

In HD, fully voice acted, with all the improvements from Oblivion and Skyrim.
i liked daggerfall better than morrowind. honestly, morrowind was my least favorite. the remake should be daggerfall.

I know it's cliche but...

Final Fantasy VII.

As much as I like the game, I don't think it has really aged that well by today's standards.

A graphical update and a re-translated script is really all I need.

The one game I would love to have remade without any need for new features or innovation would be Alien vs Predator 2. As I was hoping AvP2010 would have AvP2 features and then some it turned out no better than a benchmark game. Like a paper weight in rl.

The original Metal Gear Solid would have my vote.

I skipped over the Twin Snakes, but now that the HD collection is coming with everything (MGS2, MGS3, Peace Walker, and MG1 and 2 as part of Subsistence), I'm a little peeved they missed my favourite one of the bunch.

I kind of agree with Morrowind, though I partly feel like that era has gone for me and to relive it will destroy my nostalgia for the game.

Tempted to also agree with BG1&2, I own them both but haven't got through them yet, partly due to study commitments, partly due to the dated graphics and mechanics that someone unused to D&D rules struggles to work with.

I'd agree on the original Deus Ex and Fallout titles... but only if the meat of the games were left completely untouched. I hate remakes that end up being more akin to retellings or reinterpretations, and those are games that I think are more than fine on their own merit.

As for a new contribution... I'd like to see the same treatment for System Shock and System Shock 2. They're both awesome games that I think would benefit quite a bit from a graphical overhaul, especially right now with the popularity of the Bioshock series. I'm all-for reintroducing old classics to new generations of gamers that may not have bothered before a remake due to bad graphics.
I have to agree with you on the System Shock front, as I've always wanted to play those games but have been unable to find them. However, I think they would benefit from some touching up on design to accommodate more playstyles, as I've heard that many builds that are perfectly valid for the beginning of the game become useless later on.

Planescape Torment is also an old game I really want to try, especially in remastered graphics.

Spyro. Original. Trilogy!

All three games, HD remakes in the same fashion as Halo: Anniversary.
ie. Not touch anything but the graphics and sound.

Instant buy!
Was going to say exactly this. Instant buy here as well.
